Do we even know if its them, or just folk attaching themselves to them?

Not difficult to stick on black jeans and a black hoodie and loiter near them. That doesn't make them part of the group, although almost certainly will tar them by association if these people are doing shit like bringing 1690 flags in.

From my understanding, the group is a on a fairly tight leash with the board and I would be extremely, extremely surprised if any sectarianism is being push by any of them.

They've been a positive within the ground, and I hope people don't just make lazy attacks on all of them because 1 or 2 people who we can't even be sure are associated with the group are being pricks.

Hear hear !

They are a breath of fresh air. Football needs it more than at any time. If it’s organised and policed internally, it’s a good thing. Let’s not blacken, terrible pun, the whole movement.

Also need young supporters to want to go.

Despite what I may think of the whole ultra thing they enjoy themselves.

And like me they will look back in fondness .

It's not only about the football or none of us would watch fekin Hearts .

😂

Exactly. More youngsters going, and being involved in it, it’s a good thing for now, and in the future.

Sorry, I’ve not aware of any statements saying he’s nothing to do with them. Where would they make a statement like that? Do they have a specific twitter account or something similar?

Yeah they have a twitter page, mostly for song lyrics.

It isn't.

And I haven't heard that from the ultras first hand.

I did witness men my age singing under a union flag and paedo songs directly at Celtic supporters .

It was cringe af mate and I hate Celtic and their support.

What I saw in and around the ground was mostly our age group indulging in this.

As for behaviour in general the ultras are nowhere in comparison to my youth.

And there's a few older posters who will gleefully post about those days that criticise the ultras.

I haven’t heard it either to be fair, but there has been enough anecdotal evidence from other fans.
Of course it’s hypocritical of anyone over 40 to criticise them for singing these songs if they do, or for anything else when they sing these songs themselves.
As long as they conduct themselves in a manner that separates them from other ultras they are to be encouraged.

I remember the paggers in the middle 80s with Hearts and Hobbos / Aberdeen casuals . This isn’t the same really . Not keen on the songs sang but tend to forget it as usually concentrating on the match . Reminds me of the cringe of “ all the Hibbes are gay “ I heard it , but wasn’t screaming for people to stop singing it . It was just a cringe fest to me .

And has that hanger on been identified and the GU’s made a point of saying he’s nothing to do with them? If they have I missed that. The were certainly dozens of posters on here the day of the Hibs game pointing out he’s one of them.

Also for accuracy at no point did I say N or G were anything to do with the Ultras. I mearly pointed out that both sections were singing Hullo Hullo on Saturday night. Which I mentioned was denied as ever happening on the TIMS podcast.

If the GU went over to the hanger on and said don’t sing a certain song and it results in a confrontation. You’d probably be the first on here to say hooligans/ban them etc.

GU can’t win with some fans.

Why should they.

They're a bunch of daft Hearts supporting youngsters

What are you on about?? We are talking about sectarian behaviour at Hearts games. What the tartan army do has zero to do with the subject.

Need to sort themselves out if the chat on here is true. Shame as I thought they've been a breath of fresh air at Tynecastle.

Their songs are pretty crap too in fairness, I assumed they'd get better ones in time but they're just the same one every year sings.

Well said. The songs are quite unimaginative and generally a bit crap.

All for binning them they are a pain in the hole to be honest. Songs are cringe and last Saturday the song book was an embarrassment. Couple that with their crap flags that block the goals at the Gorgie stand and then emptying out the stadium when losing, they bring hee haw to the party and just a bunch of youths looking to look cool on social media.

Nail on the head.

And yet without them we would have about 3 songs to sing, as was the case for years.

Quality > quantity imo, particularly if it avoids just changing a generic Ultras chant you'd hear at Motherwell to include 'the Gorgie' somewhere in it.

Edit: just noticed your username, no offense meant by the above.

I'll admit I don't know the words to every song they sing but there is some decent ones in there. The new song for Penrice is catchy.

The guy with the 1690 flag is a prominent member of the group, his Twitter account suggests as much particularly after the news articles about it.

And we can add them hitting a celtic fan in hospitality the other week and fighting with police when told to stop

That, and the fact that Remember Bannockburn flags died a death at Scotland games about the same time as the Home Internationals. Used to be hunners, now you rarely if ever see one.

The worst away support this season was at St Johnstone. Sectarian songs, abusing players etc Gorgie ultras weren’t there. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The independence of the country that people are from is the same as a battle to replace a Catholic King with a Protestant one in a foreign country ? Uhm ………. Its not really likes

Uhm.... it was part of the war of the three kingdoms that led to a Protestant king being secured for Scotland.

And there was no Catholic King at the time to replace.

Being secured . Protestantism is a total sham invented by a fat psychotic inbred with a god complex . Secured

James the second was the last Catholic King of England and Ireland . Splitting heirs to concentrate on the replace part

That will be the English version of Protestantism. Invented so fattie could get a divorce. The rest of the continent did it for more sound reasons.

It really isn't. You're talking about the English version exclusively which is a bit surprising.

I assume you regard yourself as Scottish.

Indeed. Xmas not a holiday in Scotland until 1958. Most Huns' grandparents wouldn't have a Xmas tree anywhere near the house. Maybe the Pope or the IRA forced them to do it?

What are the rules around making up ism denominations anyway ? Could I just start being a Catholic and then just completely make up a brand new denomination ? How many times can Judaism even be diluted anyway

Some young lads trying to have some fun at a footie match and here this thread is talking about religious motivations behind Christmas.

You’re all better than this. I am confident in that.

Very poor today, silent, arms folded for long periods. Even after the equaliser when they should be trying to keep the noise going they were doing hee haw. What's the point?

The sheep were noisy throughout.
