hmfc_liam06
Playing like someone who doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t want an injury to jeopardise a transfer. innerjambo
He's human, not a God. A prolonged dry spell was bound to happen at some stage. Also teams have 2 or 3 men on him in the box, so he's got no time whatsoever on the ball. He's not quick enough to overcome defenders who are going to swarm all over him. Dennis Reynolds
He doesn't want to be here. I feel like he's made that pretty clear. SM Sheffield
Deserves to be dropped going from this seasons performances but he knows that he is undroppable and we have nobody to replace him. Signing another forward before the window closes is an absolute necessity.
BackOfTheNet
He had the season of his career last season, won every POTY award he could win, scored over 30 goals and earned his call up to the Scotland squad for the Euros. The guy he beat to the POTY just went to EPL for £25 million. He was expecting interest. He was expecting his achievements to lead to something big. But instead he’s got nothing. I think Clarke’s lack of faith of him shattered his confidence too, he knows he’ll never reach that level again. And he’s got a year left of his contract before he can get his move, so he’s resting on his laurels for me. Doesn’t help that he’s got zero competition for his place in the team either, he’s not being kept on his toes in training or on match day for that matter. upgotheheads
It's got nothing to do with Shankland, he didn't get a pass today that he could do anything with. There's something wrong with our attitude though; from defence through midfield we're hesitant, slow, overcomplicated, and lacking pace. washniklaw
Remember the game he scored a hatrick against Celtic he started on the bench because he wasn’t playing particularly well. Maybe needs to be reminded that he isn’t irreplaceable. Not sure if this is the answer but we need more in the attacking side of the team. I’m not dismissing his contribution over the last 24 months but you are reallly only as good as your current performance, he should be contributing

indianajones
Just now, feej said: Correct get him up top, get some pace around him, get Dhanda in behind him. Yep. It's taking a million years for the players to look and pass forward. They are already back in numbers and defensively sound before we even know what to do with the ball. Poor coaching. Can't expect Shankland to carry for a third season in a row.

It's not fecking rocket science, I'm no coach but I can see like most of us this is a shambles. I now more convinced that what Naisy is saying in public about needing to be brave and express themselves is not what he's actually coaching them to do. Motherwell manager on the radio saying he's studied Hearts and identified where to get at them. Wasn't enamored about his appointment but was reasonably happy how things were going but now I've lost patience, it's just not good enough. This, he's receiving the ball 30 -40 yards out facing his own goals, and losing possession far too often. We want to play narrow and try to get width from wing-backs and we signed 2 attacking midfielders that thrive on playing with a striker that stretches teams and finding space in and around the opposition box. By coming so deep Shankland is strangling everything.
