I don’t think he’s actually as bad as we and the majority of Hibs fans think he is. They’ve been quite unfortunate in a lot of games. I doubt he will be there next season though if these investors are serious.

He doesn’t half talk crap though. Not wee Lee levels but crap all the same.

Oda be a JT

I think when managers come out with statements like that they know they are on a sticky wicket…hopefully he stays though!

His win ratio is as bad if not worse than Sean, Lee and Jacks

He's been quite fortunate against us, that first derby especially.

Nick Montgomery expects to stay on as Hibernian manager even if his side miss out on the Premiership's top six.

"I expect to be here for the time on my contract," said Montgomery, who has won eight of his 28 league games.

Fingers crossed Nick, fingers crossed.

He is absolute horseshit it took a player intervention in January for him to finally realise he could net 442 to work not that 433 has done that much better and the loan player from Germany has really been the only thing pulling him through in a lot of games.

Tricky decision. (It isn't really.)

Bottom 6 and he goes I think.

They will be lumbered with a spare coach from Bournemouth so that any young laddies they send up here will be first names on the team sheet I’m calling it now,NAP

This is it.

The Hibs job is fast becoming a gig whereby you go through mental anguish for about 6 months, make a complete arse of yourself and then get 2.5 years of your remaining shree year deal paid out to you.

The Football Agents who secure these positions for managers must *** love Hibs, a nice 10% cut every 6 months😆

Exactly my thoughts. He’s been telt by the board he’s getting binned the night, after the inevitable scudding at Fir Park.

Not a chance they will make yet another change. He needs 2-3 centre backs who can defend properly and he’ll get the window and the first set of games next season at the very least

I don't feel sorry for him but the guy has no chance of achieving anything over there, with their current set up.

If he's there for next season, he's going to get handed a team of loanees and basically start all over again.

Don’t think he’s been picking the signings, which happens at a few clubs, but he’s making his own messes with what he’s got

More chance of staying if they get bottom six. He will be gone if we get the chance to thump them on their own patch again.

  1. Everybody is devastated' - Montgomery

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Hibernian

Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery tells BBC Scotland: "It's really hard to explain how that [late goal] happened but it's happened too many times to us this season, one shot on target and we concede from it.

"I think we could have had two or three goals today and the game could have been more than over way before that incident.

"Everybody is devastated in the dressing room, they put their heart and soul into the performance. We were 20 seconds away from still having a great chance to be in the top six, so we will have to reflect on that and move forward.

"I came in and the club was in a difficult position. I have done everything I possibly can.

"We brought in some very good players in January but as a club we have to reflect on the season.

"I have been here for three quarters of it and we can look back at all the things that have gone wrong and gone against us but we should have won the game today.

"I thought the boys were brave and played really well but we can only look back with regret now that we dropped too many points from games we should have won.

Defensively, it's still the same old Hibs'

FT: Motherwell 1-1 Hibernian

Allan Preston

Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Hibs got rid of Lee Johnson, who got them to fifth last season.

Are they taking strides forward? Up front they maybe look a bit better, but defensively it's still the same old Hibs. They couldn't hold out for another 30 seconds...

Since the middle of December, it's three wins; St Johnstone, Ross County and Dundee. It's not good enough.

Payoff and he gets to swap Leith/East Mains for Australia. I’d be keeping everything crossed for a sacking if I was him.

I keep wondering where his family are?  If he had kids at school in Oz, they would be playing sport all the time, out at the beach for a good chunk of the year, out in great weather with their pals and having all the other benefits from living there.  Sorry kids you are moving to a two up, two down in a new housing estate in East Lothian so Dad can get to his new job easily in Leith.  What's Leith like Dad and does our new house have a swimming pool like the old one in Oz?  Eh we can chat about that later kids🤣
