I’ve never really understood why, and it’s been going on for 20 odd years, that the media have nothing but blind undeserved praise for Hibs and want them right at the pinnacle of Scottish football, but they are desperate for us to fail. Just don’t get it !

 

Whatever the media may wish for, and you’ve heard all weekend what they are wishing for, this will be wrapped up inside 30 minutes and we’ll coast through. No one else has coasted through this weekend, apart from maybe Rangers I suppose you could say, but we’re hammering this mob by 4 and the so called neutrals can switch over in time for Celebrity Big Brother 

 

No cup shocks for the Gorgie. No siree

Remember to allow plenty of time for congestion en-route.

 

As for the match, l'll be a happy laddie if we:-

 

1. Do a professional job and win comfortably.

 

2. Play good entertaining football.

 

3. Don't get dragged down into a battle of attrition. Their manager has already alluded to that.

 

4. Don't get hampered by crap refereeing.

 

5. End the match with no injuries. Some of their players are pro-cloggers.

 

6. See a hat-trick for Shankland.

 

7. Bag additional goals from, well, anybody!

 

8. Get to cheer a clean sheet for Gordon.

 

Not a lot to ask for, is it?

Let's hope that everyone gets home safe & sound with no nonsense from any Greenock bams and no unforseen travel chaos as the transport scenario looks bad enough as it is without anything else cropping up.

 

Judging by the ¼ final matches already played it's likely that none of the 3 teams already through will wish to face us and it would be great if our performance adds to that.

 

As for Hearts, we should be heading to Hampden fearing none of these three.

 

I'm in optimistic mode.

I hope whomever;s playing right CB or RB or RWB is ready for a basttle as the last time I was through there, about a year ago (vs Queens Park), Jose Quitongo's son (brickshithouse comes to mind), Jai was a handful, and not someone defenders relish playing against.

I can’t agree with your opening paragraph to be honest mate. I think every fan thinks the media has it in for them - Hibs fans in particular if you ever read Hibs.net. 
 

I would go as far as to say I think most media outlets and broadcasters have a little laugh at Hibs moreover any other team - especially the old “Hibbsed it” stuff 😂

 

I think most in the media pity them more than anything. Nobody sees them as a threat or a serious club I’d suggest. 

 

The only downside to that is they never get a real hard time about how sh1te they truly are, woeful derby record, dismal managerial appointment record, scummy vape throwing fanbase.

The Scottish media can't support the smaller clubs v Old Firm - as they would lose too many readers.

Media want us to lose because we are the big team in Edinburgh. I am cool with that.

My last visit to Cappielow was on a freezing cold Boxing Day mid to late eighties/early nineties I think. I remember that some/all of the Davidson’s Mains bus were dressed in Hawaiian shirts and shorts and had inflatable surfboards and did the conga round the terracing.😂
