Nobody is obsessed either. The reason so many people pull you up is because you actively go out of your way to attract the ridicule you receive. So rather than squealing about it, you could try and avoid picking so many fights in the first place. So we pull up at this place called Mr Robinson (based on Robinson Crusoe, complete with fake palm tree). Anyway, as he stops Vlad, who was quite a character jumps out the car and goes round to the boot. I'm thinking "Uh-oh..." but out of the boot comes a balalaika and he sits on the car and starts singing a Russian folk tune! It was somewhat strange, surreal, and disturbingly, um, romantic! So after the song, Vlad decides to accompany me into Mr Robinson for a Hot Chocolate and I'm a bit surprised when the big burly doormen great him like a pal and 2 of them come in and show us and then join us at the best table in the bar/club. So I get a nice flash of the doorman's hardware as he leans over - I don't know guns, but that was a pretty effing lethal looking one in his jacket holster...So we sit and drink whilst watching the dancefoor where there are this crowd of very enthusiastic dancers - Picture tall beautiful Russian women wearing tiny dresses, and big scary Igors all with military hairdos... So then a few more tough looking guys join us - One was the owner of the club, the others were "important local businessmen" pretty obviously the local top dogs as you can tell by how deferential Vlad and the doormen are. And yet little old me gets introduced to everyone and out comes the vodka!. Anyway after the hellos I didn't have to speak much and was left to myself by and large, but it turns out that in the basement of Mr Robinson the bar/nightclub was a stipclub and sauna. I got a pretty much a free run of the place but I'm not going to say anything about that, other than as a "friend" of the bosses I got treated well.
