Films that are shite, but great.

Do not attempt to watch any of the following films when sober.

Iron Sky (2012)

Satirical comedy action adventure.

A Nazi base is discovered on the moon after being hidden for 70 years and this triggers absolute chaos.

Total shite but totally brilliant.

Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)
Comedy horror.
Having faked his own death, Elvis (Bruce Campbell) is spending his last days in a retirement home, when his peace is shattered by the appearance of an evil Egyptian Mummy.
Looking for help, Elvis teams up with a fellow resident, who is a black man who claims to be JFK, (having undergone race swapping surgery after faking his own death too).

Razor Blade Smile (1998)
Action horror
Ultra-low budget British vampire film following the adventures of Vampire Assassin Lilith Silver (played by glamour model Eileen Daly)

The Love Witch (2016)

An homage to the awful erotic horror films of the 1960s/70s.
A modern-day witch tries to get various men to fall in love with her, with disastrous results. A bit like a film version of Garth Marenghi, with all the bad acting, awful fight scenes and crap effects you'd expect.

Shaolin Soccer (2001)

Martial arts sports comedy.

Stephen Chow stars as a former football player who gathers a team of Kung Fu monks and enters a football competition.
Like a live action computer game. Totally, totally bonkers.

Iron Sky and Bubba Ho Tep are masterpieces.

Will be giving Iron Sky a whirl tonight after a long couple of days on trains.

It seemed to have disappeared off all the streaming services the last time I tried to watch it.
A similarly silly one that came out around the same time was Kung Fury, total low budget and released on YouTube until it was spotted by film people. 30 minutes of absolutely hilarious deftness.

I've just watched that and, well, wow. No time for Kung Fury 2 at the moment but I'll make sure to watch it next week.

Dog Soldiers.

Dog Soldiers is clever. It should be shite and I do understand why it's mentioned in the context of the thread but nah, its not shite. It's brilliant, funny and by the end, you're rooting for they lads. Its almost perfect.

Duel       (Dennis Weaver being chased for 2 hours by an enormous American truck)

Fistful of Dollars  (Clint looking mean & moody  in a poncho. One or two scenes  don't involve a gun-fight)

Scum     (Phil Daniels & Ray Winstone as violent young thugs in a Borstal)

Nine to Five (Sexist boss gets intimidated by 3 sharp-witted women)

It isn't.

It's one of those "what would you do" type of movies.

Me?

I'd turn back, head home and give up the job prospect.

Cut!

The End.

Me too.  But not everyone would.  And what happens when the little choices you make combine together to turn into one big life-changing decision?  Quite existential stuff, as it happens.

Nah, you're not getting away with that. I don't think it's nice you laughing.

I actually agree with you both. Its a rivetting watch on a psychological level, once you realise the truck represents something else.

The concept of a sh1te film which is also great  makes little sense anyway (imo obviously)
