Dennis Quaid. He seems to have spent most of his career making the wrong choices of films to be in. But when he has the right part he is fantastic. When Val Kilmer was getting all the plaudits for his Doc Holiday I thought Quaid’s was much better and more layered.

Very good in a special relationship as Bill Clinton

Agreed on Adam Sandler, unbelievably good performance in ‘Uncut Gems’

I’m not sure just how famous this woman is, but after watching ‘The Woman in the Wall’, I’m putting up Ruth Wilson. Tremendous performance from her in this. If you haven’t seen it, I can highly recommend it.

Excellent in Luther, The affair, and oddly enough Mrs Wilson.

Female British actress Emily Watson.

Excellent in an appropriate adult.

George Peppard was another one of whom it was always said he was better than most of the films he was in - booze was his downfall, and being blond when Hollywood wanted tall, dark and handsome...

Never seen any of those, that’s why I don’t really know her. Was seriously impressed with her acting in the series I mentioned though.

There also actors that have gone for the big money action roles that overshadow the fact they’re actually very good actors earlier in their careers. Robert Downey Jr is known to a generation for flying around in an iron suit. Then look back at performances like Chaplin and Natural Born Killers to see how good he is.

Julie Walter’s !!!!

Definitely not underrated. There used to be an inside joke with actors that if she didn’t make a film or TV series for a year she’d get a BAFTA for best performance in an advert.

He is ridiculously talented, Iron Man 2 he is amazing. As good acting wise as anyone in the oscars
