This was the one I was going to say too, was a screamer made funny by the fact he/they didn’t get it!

Andy Ritchie scored for Morton with a free kick from an impossible angle when Morton including Mark MacGhee beat us 5-3 in the early 80s. We had a big rivalry with Morton back then and many memorable battles between the fans and the teams.

I think that was the 77/78 season at Cappielow. We had beaten them 3-0 in a league cup game at Tynecastle, when Eammon Bannon scored a cracking free kick for us that night. Andy Ritchie was a cracking player for them.

The penalty that Dean Shiels scored against Craig Gordon. For the aftermath. :)

Every other game was vs. Morton between 1977-81. 😉

I knew the old memory still had it. Was at both games as a then 14 and half yrs old. Away game on the SCAB(Stockbridge, Craigleith, and Blackhall) supporters bus.

The best and most enjoyable ones we've conceded are the disallowed ones.

Griffiths and Oli Shaw come to mind. 👍

I was at quite a few of the Tynecastle meetings. I was aged 9-13 during that time.

That angle makes it look touch and go but in real time it was clear it was never a goal. :whistling:

Got to take the curvature of the ball into consideration too.

Petrov's goal v Hearts in 2006/07 for me

You got a video of that one?

I remember a Hearts v French team (from the south) where this player did a volley in the first half and shut us all up for the rest of the game. "Go easy on us" was the shared emotion. Cannae mind who.

That's how I remember it too. Think he was out pretty wide but it was a deliberate strike into the top bins from maybe 30-35 yards.

I did have a look for the goal but haven't been able to find a video.

It was cracking free kick.

Couldn't remember if we had won or lost 3-2. But we won with a good Kingston free kick.

We had been beaten 3-2 by ICT at Tyney a few years earlier.

Came to say this aswell.

We released a 'season review' dvd that year and it was the only 'away team's goal we showed.

The best thing about this was the next (was it next?) Derby when Cowie did exactly the same thing and it was given.

And Craig Leveins comments "part of me hoped it hadn't crossed the line"

Wee Neil was fuming 🤣🤣🤣

I remember winding a hibs supporter up,told him the camera angle is not straight, its taken at a angle,so the ball looks

like it has crossed the line, took him a wee while to realise i was winding him up,shame.

I remember sitting behind two Hibs fans watching it on their phones on the bus after the match ending myself at how angry they were. They knew too 😁

From certain angles, looking at a 3D sphere and a 2D straight line in a 2D image can give some the impression that none of the sphere is level with the line.

The only thing we can rely on in these instances is the scoreboard.

Exactly . I can see how a biased Hibs supporter could think that the ball was over the line but lets be honest here , it is pretty inconclusive

1 thing you can guarantee is it wasn't a Hibs *****. Something they cannot claim about Hearts thanks to Mr Ozturk

The Jordan Foster goal in the relegation party* derby was a favourite.

Disallowed in a marginal offside call.

* party in the sense of forming a relegation party

I have a mental block. I can’t remember any of them, why would I want to?

Posted

Can't remember who it was but one of the Tottenham goals when they battered us a Tynie was pretty decent? Bale or Defoe?

Posted

Probably the toughest question ever.  As I delve through my memories I will probably come up with many alternatives but the one that jumped in to my head first was Gazzas first goal in the 4-3 League cup final.  We had got back to 2-2 and looked like getting on top when he just took the game by the scruff.

**** me, an all time new low for JKB.

**** every non Hearts fan, **** every other club and certainly every goal we have ever conceded can **** right off.

I seem to recall Mark Hateley scoring an absolute ripper against us at Tynecastle. Don't ask me when though.

Rangers were shooting towards the Gorgie end and Hateley picked up the ball around the half way line next to the dugouts, passed a couple of Hearts players, looked up and seen Henry off his line and he just leathered it from about 30 - 35 yards and it flew passed big Henry before he even knew what was happening.

I hate rangers but that goal was a thing of beauty.
