Scene stealing supporting actors / actresses

They often make a dismal film far more entertaining for them being present it in.  Often outshining the " star" with their acting and " scene stealing ". I was watching " The Invisible man " the now and noted the great and hysterical Una Oconnor.  You might not know her name but probably will know her face. She was great in " Frankenstien" screaming like a banshee.  However Karloff was incredible in this but she was great support.

Any other supporting actors / actresses you like ?

Also loved this guy. He seemed to be in every film in the 70s and 80s. Charles Durning .  He was great in " Tootsie" too.

John Cazale in Godfather 2.

The scene in the boathouse with Michael was simply incredible. Morphing into Vito Corleone from the hapless Freddo as the scene developed.

Stunning. Watch it again.

Yes he was. Shame he died a couple years after that. He was a promising actor.

I think we all need to forget that The Godfather 3 exists LOL.

however there is the great scene at the opera where Raf Vallone goes on a killing spree

A mix of folk who aren’t the lead but dominate every scene they’re in and some memorable cameos.

Robert Duvall - Apocalypse Now

Dean Stockwell - Blue Velvet

Robert Shaw - Jaws

Christopher Walken - Pulp Fiction

Christian Bale - The Fighter

Joe Pesci - Goodfellas

Javier Bardem - No Country For Old Men

Alec Baldwin - Glengarry Glen Ross

:o

One of my all time favourite films...perhaps not aged that well but starred many of the superstars of the day...based on a Japanese film...could watch it at least monthly, but Mrs KvC isn't a fan 🧐

Good choices.  Dean Stockwell eventually made the succesful transition from a child actor to an adult one. Some dont.

Joe Pesci is always value for money.

Made me think of similar actor , the great Chazz Palmintera.

Charles Grodin is a great shout. Midnight Run is a terrific film - they’re like Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

There is an urban myth that Marisa Tomei didn't win the best supporting actor for " My cousin Vinny" as Jack Palance read out her name by mistake. She was up against stiff acting opposition such as  Vanessa Redgrave , Joan Plowright and Miranda Richardson. But she won it fair and square and it was just snobbery as her win was for a comedy performance.  She was great in it. She got nominated again and has proven she it wasnt a fluke win.
