Two points:  First,  the officials tried every VAR jolt from Muir searching for a penalty. Succeeded, as you know eventually, ignoring foul in the lead up.  Beaton obviously doesn't believe that a Rangers player commits a foul when he blatantly pushes a Hearts player in the back.

Second, why did we retreat into lying so deep in the second half?  Once we were over the first quarter of the second half, why did we not push on the break by adopting the successful tactics of the first half?  Why put Forrest on instead of Odo?  Forrest is living off that goal, he is dross.  Odo is more competitive and dangerous.

Footnote:  Beni getting stick in previous games. Made a few mistakes but overall contributed, which makes him look a better than average midfielder.  Trouble is some are comparing him with himself pre-injury.  Compare his performance today with the wee man's.

Odo?

In fairness to Forrest, he has been much better recently and not just in the derby.

But yep - we definitely sat far too deep. The tweak in set up (moving Vargas to the wing) as well as the subs (some enforced/some SN’s choice) definitely impacted us in a negative sense.

That is so sickening. It really is.

But I hope our players will take a lot of encouragement from that heading into next Sunday. Rangers CAN be beat.

Looking at the coverage, Haring has a hold of his jersey, then Lundstram (facing away from the ball) moves into Harings path intentionally, stopping Haring from going with the runner as he moves to attack the cross. Lundstram does impede Haring, a move clearly worked on in training, a foul yes, but Haring had hold of the jersey before this happened. Poor by Haring, in fact fekn stupidity tbh.

If we had a choice, which one?

We'll, that choice has been made for us.  PRAISE the LORD!

Look, this says it all really. Totally negative in the 2nd half. The fact we conceded 2 goals in stoppage time is completely unacceptable. Haring certainly didn't help at all though wtf was he thinking!?!?

Agree about your comment on subs but the worst substitution was Forrest. Should have been Odo.

Agree I don’t know how Forrest is still here he’s utter dugmeat

And yet, he's better than Vargas.

Would not say that Vargas finds the net for Costa Rica I’d say I don’t think the way we are set up is getting the best out of him , watching him under a different manager he looks a more accomplished player than when he play for us , hopefully when we get rid of the YTS trainee we will see more out of the players we have

See when someone is behind you pulling your shirt backwards, how is it you then fall forwards on your face?  By that logic Harring pulling his shirt from behind surly must have been helping him to stay up 🤷‍♂️

You can fall over and lose your balance when someone is pulling your shirt from behind. And obviously Goldson is going to make a meal of it and make it look it worse than it actually was. It was a penalty, though.

I hope you're right mate because at this rate we won't be taking the option to buy.

We played really well, and deserved the win but once again stupid subs have cost us. What he sees in Forrest I will never know and why take off a 22 year old when he is playing out his skin? Two really stupid incidents that professional players should never be making. Sibbick could see we had cover and no need to dive in ( luckily they missed a free shot ) as for Harring pulling a jersey is just criminal in that situation.

This for me reinforces why we need an experienced manager, one that won't stand for such sloppiness and won't make stupid subs.

We can’t afford that this season when the prize is so big, imagine St Mirren getting £5m for finishing 3rd ffs, that would give me the dry heave! We’ll be lucky to be top half at this rate.

St Mirren, if they did finish 3rd, would get nothing like that figure.
3rd place this season would put you in the 2nd QR of the Europa League. That’s six games away from the groups. Lucky if they cover their costs !

Winning the SC though is the target. If one of the arse cheeks win it then 3rd goes into the EL play off and then ECL.

IF one of them win it.

3rd place this season gets guaranteed group European football next season mate as long as one of the arse cheeks win the SC, it's usually a given really.

Yea, I agree, sadly. Nice carrot to go for though. Cup rather than 3rd.

You'd like to think that because the SC is the only trophy left we can win this season, that we'd make a proper fist of it, and then the draw comes in when we get to play at Parkhead in January

Mmm ! Possibly.

I suppose there is the scenario where one of the OF wins the Cup and 5th gets a ECL slot.
Straw-clutching but hey !!

Jeez, some of the comments, criticising the team and/or board on here, are nothing less than embarrassing! Please someone, remind me of the money difference of buying players, wages etc between Rangers/Celtic and us!
To save time, it is, unfortunately, huge! We have to face reality! I think we can win at Hampden next Sunday, for what it is worth, but we need some luck and every Hearts player on ‘top of their’ game! We also need 20,000 true Hearts fans roaring us on!

Supporting Hearts is more than just about the football, although that is obviously, the most important part.

I seldom look at social-media these days connected with Hearts because of all the ‘so called’ exerts on here spouting such garbage!

Good we let halliday on the pitch for the two rangers goals.  Sure he will be on the podcast talking about how he’s delighted the new rangers manager is turning them around.

hopefully he wasn’t celebrating too late in the louden tavern, need him fit to sit on the bench on wed night.

You’re wasting your breath unfortunately. The only time money difference is an issue is when it’s used to have a go at the club for not beating teams with smaller budgets. The hypocrisy seems lost on some when we play Celtic or rangers.

By The Light..

Rangers have a squad that is 7x the market value of the Hearts squad.

Every one of the Rangers squad would get a game for Hearts most likely as 1st pick.

There is only one player in our squad that would get a game for Rangers and unfortunately after his performance yesterday the chances of that have only increased.

I'm one of the ones who want change in the boardroom and touchline but a wouldn't beat the management team or players up from yesterday's performance! Was night and day from the previous week against celtic and plenty positives to take from yesterday

We needed Halliday as apparently he 'hates the IRA' and that's just what this team needs.

Am really glad we left Boyce on the bench too. No need to explain that one Naismith.

So we shouldn’t expect to get anything off the uglies when we play them due to the money difference but we also shouldn’t expect to beat teams who we have a money difference over? You realise that doesn’t make sense eh?

Yeah.

But Hearts were comfortable defending second half. Rangers passed the ball side to side, got some crosses in and tried to make space for a shot down the middle. But everything was blocked, headed away or the space closed down. It was pretty comfortable and only heading towards one result until Haring helped them.

I tend to agree with that, but it doesn't detract from the fact that we were honking in the second half, and had we been a little bolder, Rangers were there for the taking because they were playing garbage, we don't get many golden chances like that in Glasgow to close games out, and chose to park the bus instead of being a little braver. I'm not on about attacking them gung ho style, I'm on about finding out where the half way line is and actually trying to cross it with some measured football.

Also the Men in Black will influence the game, the one on the pitch and if he can't cheat enough, the one in the VAR room will come up with something, just remembered that penalty from last week.

I was not far of the mark with my prediction on Sunday🤣FFS, it really is getting that predictable, I'm not saying Haring was not guilty of pulling a shirt and giving the officials a decision to make but what I am saying is the VAR ref jumping at the opportunity to bring it to the ref's attention, we all bloody well know that's not happening at the other end of the park in any game against the old firm.
