you were named as an expert on scooters in a thread the other day, so could you give me a wee bit of advice? planning on getting one soon-ish, and it will be my first.

is this (in the Azzuro Blue) a good deal?

Go for the old school look mate, they are well smart, you would look a bit of a plum in a bright orange scooter.

Old school all the way

Jam tartan...I bought a Scooter from http://www.scooter.co.uk...........Ideal for the short Journey to and from work...Trying to register the bloody thing has been a nightmare though...DVLA in Swansea took 2 weeks to send out the documentation req'd...I phoned 3 times told each time it would only take 3 working days...Since recieved 3 sets ...Anyway ?55 to register and ?15 per year road tax...Should have the Scooter reg'd by Monday, Only because the wife took the documents into the DVLA at the Gyle on Wednesday and is going back for them on Monday, otherwise it would be another 2-3 weeks ...Buy a second hand pre registared Scooter!!

For a 125cc you need a CBT...Costs ?115 for a 1 day course, the CBT lasts 2 years but you have to wear L plates the whole time and you can't drive on the Motorway...I bought a 50cc, can't get above 40mph on the road to and from my work anyway...Don't need CBT or L plates as I've had my driving license since 1985...Check DVLA website mate, should tell you everything you need to know!!

I'd avoid the "tommy" scooter too unless your football lives in EH7

Whatever you do, do not buy a Scooter from http://www.scooter.co.uk.

Feckin crooks. If you have any problems with them you can forget it. It might seem a cheap option but you will get absolutely no help from them if anything goes wrong. You'd be much safer buying a second hand bike for the same sort of price.

Worst purchasing experience I have ever had in my life with them.
