Interview on HW.

If he only thinks 2 or 3 he must see something the rest of us don't.

Also thinks that lack of confidence is a major factor.

More like 5 or 6 IMO.

I still can't see why everyone is MOANING about losing a FRIENDLY 1-0. The team that played tonight is a mix of youth and the 1st team...

We came 8th last season - so is Csaba going to wave a magic wand and make us play amazing? No.

If there are no changes then the chances are the team will continue to play pants...bring in some new faces and get the dead wood out (Stewart, Zaliukas etc etc). Bring something different to the team...Confidence.

I also can't understand why we play a young laddie up front on his own...but mind you thats ALL WE HAVE. It's pathetic...new striker is the main thing to look at first.

Would be shocked if he came out and said the playing side needed sweeping changes.

Correct.

For "2 or 3" read "Jesus, I need to empty at least half of this lot".

He just cant come out and say it.

Diplomaticaly he refused to discuss individuals or problematic positions but he must see the need for 1 or 2 strikers !

I read on Teletext that ICT were resigned to selling at 400k.

I'd take him.

I think he's right.

A box to box midfielder, a striker and a full back should do. Preferably one of them to have leadership qualities.

We need 11 new players imo.

We need another Goalie.

1 Right Back.

1 Left Back.

1 Centre Half.

2 Right Midfielders.

1 Centre Midfielder.

1 Attacking Midfielder.

1 Left Midfielder.

3 Strikers.

And I'm deadly serious.

To put it into perspective a half decent Hearts Team with only 3 changes playing the 4-2-3-1 that seems to be the main choice-

Banks

Robbie Karipidis Berra New Player

Ruben Jonsson

Miko/Chesney New Player Driver

New Player

Not outstanding but easily top 6 if the new players are to a decent standard

Just my opinion of course

Im not long back from the game and I agree about the confidence issue, I was actually thinking that too.

Our players dont have any confidence on the ball at all, they cant seem retain possession, make an accurate pass or do anything creative.

Most of the time they were passing square in the hope that a teammate might be able to something with it or passing it back.

Theres no confidence, no communication and no teamwork.

Csaba is going to have to come good on his "miracle man" tag.

I'd go along with that . . . if we were playing 3 a side ;)

Good teams are generally built around a solid base (a defence, or spine through the team or even a single player). I just can't see what that base could be. I think he needs to buy it !

Lack of confidence - where did he get that from? It's not if the Hearts support were booing the team off at halftime for a friendly was it?

Lack of confidence is a major issue, but also ability. Out of the squad we have we are painfully short of quality, especially up top.

I would blame SF for confidence issue, as he bigged up players when clearly not good enough i.e elliot, wallace, jonsson.

Csaba has a bit of time to make it right, and if he gets his 2-3 players in then we should be ok. Also add in a fit Kingston to the mix and things are looking up.

Strikers a priorty and a no nonsence centre half. Someone with a bit of presence and can play a bit.

Bloody hell, can't believe I forgot about him, I'd swap him for Ruben to be honest. If we are going to be playing 4-2-3-1, if you think other teams that play it like Liverpool don't have 2 strong defensive players they have the likes of Alonso and Mascherano who can put the foot in if required but the key thing is they can play a decisive pass which I don't think Ruben can

Maybe it was a breakdown in his english,he said 2 or 3 but meant 23.

Goalie, left back, centre back, right back, and 2 strikers who actually score double figures in a season. Our midfield with Larry, ruben(on a good day),eggy, driver, chesney and miko, isnt too bad at all.

Can people recall the 98-99 season though, When we all expected the cup win to be a springboard to greater things and yet we ended up almost drowning in the shallow end :P

Somehow the guys just began to fire on all cylinders late on ( the return of Cameron was the spark I think )

Now I doubt even that season was quite as flat as last year ( and of course we HAD seen those boys perform just the year previously ) but is the current squad totally beyond that kind of redemption do you think ?

What about Motherwell. They were simply abject under Malpas and yet were suddenly reborn under MM ...............although I don't know how much, if any, emergency surgery took place to 'stop the bleeding' as it were ?

Add in a goalie and I would entirely agree. The problem is until we get players in results will be inconsistent at very best. If the mad one believes we will get off to a flyer and we don't Csaba could be out the door before any new players are settled into the team. This is of course why we should have had a new manager in months and months ago in preparation for the new season.

2 or 3 is what he is saying, but i reckon he knows we need more. No point in saying that as it woun't be good for existing players moral and he might not be able to get a larger number in becasue it just doesn't happen or Vlad doesn't let him.

Agreed, imagine going to Vlad and saying I need 12 new players (as one poster seems to think) what would his reaction be? He wants quality not quantity so we're going to have to be patient. If he gets 3 even 4 new players in that are clearly better than current I'll be happier. For me it's more about who gets shunted. If nos. 28/29 go I'll be pleased as they offer nothing except keeping a youth out the 1st team squad. If Chesney goes I'll not bother as he has delivered little. If Zal goes I'll not be bothered as he has gone down hill in his only possible position of CH. If Miko goes I'd be happy. Not because I don't like him as I feel he's the one Lith who has something to offer (albeit as a squad player) but it would be the clearest sign possible that Shabba has full control.
