Captain Tom (The Daughter, the Foundation and Club Nook Ltd)

Back in February 2022 the charity was blocked from appointing her as CEO with a £150k salary.  They then proposed £85K salary for 3 days per week, this was also rejected, then a final agreement of £60k and a rolling 3 month contract with her holding the role for a maximum of 9 months.

An inquiry was set up back in March 2021 due to the financial going's on.  The family trademarked 'Captain Tom' and a company called Club Nook Ltd made £809k profit from it in it's first year.

The £38M raised by Captain Tom isn't involved in this, but everything under The Captain Tom Foundation is, that's £1.4M (net)

Now she's been ordered to demolish the building built, with a swimming pool, under the guise of 'Captain Tom Foundation Building' in the grounds of her £1.2M home.

It shouldn't deflect from the old guy himself though and what he contributed during a very dark period on UK, and the world.

Just a shame that his family aren't cut from same cloth.

Used to laugh at the number of times some minor scandal or inconvenience developed and she’d pipe up in the mail saying ‘my father wouldn’t have thought very much of this.’

Let's not forget that they rinsed him for a Holiday to Barbados, where he contracted Covid and subsequently died.

Literally everything that happened after he’d done his walks and raised the money was weird as ****.

From all the murals and naff displays, to all the tories and tory politicians championing him without a hint of awareness or irony.

I forgot about that, the holiday that ended him :(  I bet she went to the toilet and fist pumped when she got the news with a wee 'kerching!'

Everything that happened at that time was weird. Banging pots and pans on doorsteps every Thursday. The whole thing was barmy as ****.

Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't do as many steps as he claimed either.

Not the only people to see an opportunity in the pandemic either, alongside Janey Godley and Michelle Mone.

As much as Janey is a cringe she is an entertainer (insert inverted commas to suit) and was merely doing what thousands of other entertainers were doing, especially as they could not perform in person. There was a huge rise in podcasts during covid and many have stuck with the format.

Joe Wicks was another one who saw a major opportunity under the guise of helping people.

Mone, on the other hand, should be getting dragged back to the UK for questioning.

Strange strange period all round thinking back on it now. Hard to believe some of the weird stuff that went on. The outdoors basically shut down for recreational use, was it on Thursday the clapping for carers happened? And this old boy walking round his garden to raise millions for the NHS.

Not sure how history is going to judge what went on in those first lockdowns.

The outdoors was wonderful at that time. Even more space and peace than usual.

Deep in forests around the world, there are statues of the great bat who gave their life, so the animals could have their lands back. If just for a while.

I completely agree. Not defending Mone at all but at least we've always known she's a greedy, grifting chiseler.

Godley tried to say that she was doing those horrendous ****ing voiceovers every day to bring a smile to the nation. My arse.

She needs sent to jail

There's enough to disqualify her from being involved with charities in a board/exec capacity as the information that has come out has shown it wasn't being operated for charitable purposes. Jail though - not sure there is.

To be blunt, the family set out to create a legacy charity for their Dad then then the novelty of the time/commitment required became a full time voluntary job she's grabbed the opportunity to make a job from it full time. Everything after that was morally bankrupt but logically smart business moves.

If she hadn't have been egotistical and pushed for the Charity CEO role/stepped back from the daily charity activities then she'd probably got away with it.

Probably. All she did was accept donations from people with more money than sense. Happens all the time.

This. Anyone donating to someone walking about their garden needs their head checked. Fools and their money are easily parted.

I just wonder how many folk living in Scotland were stupid enough to donate? Even if it was legit, it was only for the English NHS.
