Not as much as the Ibrox loan arrangers…

Aberdeen midfielder Ylber Ramadani is close to completing a move to Italy with Serie A club Lecce.

Ramadani only joined Aberdeen last year, linking up with the Dons from Hungarian outfit MTK Budapest.

He penned a three-year deal at Pittodrie and featured on a regular basis for Aberdeen, both under Jim Goodwin and then latterly Barry Robson.

"And good will come to"

Weird phrasing, unless they are hinting at David Goodwillie.

Italian side Lecce.

The 27-year-old Albania international made 44 appearances in an impressive first season with the Dons following his move from MTK Budapest.

According to a report in Albania, Ramadani is “on the verge” of completing a transfer to the Serie A side.

But the Press and Journal understands Aberdeen have not been contacted over a potential move for the defensive midfielder.

The Dons have already made five signings during a busy summer window with the arrival of Graeme Shinnie, Leighton Clarkson, Ester Sokler, Nicky Devlin and Rhys Williams.

They had McCorie on loan to buy deal previously. Hagi seems extremely unlikely mind you.

Hagi would cost millions, wont happen.

Believe all of this started from rumours of a swap for lopes. Issue is benfica who own 50% stake

Something comical about that, they own half a player and they want to trade him for a whole player. That aside I would suspect Hagi to probably be on 20K a week or so, the sheep going to pay that?

And in addition to that I would also suspect Hagi would have zero interest in signing for them for multiple reasons. Even if he wanted a move he would sit on the bench in Glasgow and wait for something else rather than go to the sheep.

So do we

Yes but Aberdeen loan players constantly from the OF.  As do Hibs.  Fine if they're ok with that and it works for them, but I'm very glad it's not us

Interesting claim in the Jota to Saudi Arabia story that Celtic are paying him £35 000 per week.

Also the claim that his wages ratchet up if Celtic refuse an offer of £25m for him suggests that agents believe that is a realistic fee for Celtic to receive. Those wages and transfer fees (if true) really help illustrate the financial gulf we are dealing with.

I took that as meaning his wage would rise to between £35k and £45k if an offer of £25m was turned down. Not sure what he is on just

Poorly worded in the Glasgow Times article. If you click through, the Record article says:

"Record Sport understands Jota has a clause in his Hoops contract that will automatically trigger a hike in wages from £35k to £45k per week if the club rejects a bid of at least £25m."

Fair enough! I did think a wage rise of between £35k and £45k was kinda vague

Can't even remember him being particularly good

As has been said Italian clubs definitely must be seeing Scotland as a decent market now.All good for the future for clubs instead England wanting to buy our players for two Bob.

I imagine that if Jota was at Hearts that headline would read something like "Hearts deny Jota dream move"

The last and probably only loan we got from the OF was Gregor Stevens from Rangers in 1984

The loan was for a handful of games approximately 3/4 and believe it or not  one game was actually against Rangers at Tynecastle in a 2-2 draw

Calvin Bassey set to earn Rangers transfer windfall as Brighton aim to end his Ajax nightmare

The stopper is a Seagulls target after they missed out last year and Gers could bank almost £2m thanks to a sell-on.

A former top flight forward in Scottish football? The guy played 7 minutes for Hearts in the Championship, as well as a sub appearance in the challenge cup.

My recollection was he was a slightly uglier Peter Crouch lookalike

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of talented Aberdeen striker Lewis Pirie this week, with the club beating stiff competition to his signature from the Premier League.

The Whites are yet to get up and running with new signings since being relegated from the Premier League back in May.

Pre-season gets underway today with testing taking place, and transfers are going to need to come thick and fast ahead of August’s Championship kick-off.

Cyriel Dessers is poised to become the sixth signing of the summer at Ibrox as Rangers continue their rebuilding job ahead of the new campaign.

Boss Michael Beale identified Dessers as one of his main attacking targets as part of his recruitment drive following the departures of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos at the end of the season.

Knocked back Celtic earlier in the year

They have some amount of class young players recently.  Something in the Norwegian waters reaching Aberdeen?

Think it's more just a good crop of younger players tbh, recently had McKenna/Ramsay break into the first team and get sold for decent money

Losing too many players at younger ages (Archie Mair + Terry Taylor recently)

Good to see players being linked with big money moves down south as shows clubs doing someting right in terms of developing players etc

Steven Gerrard has been named as the new Al-Ettifaq manager.

The Saudi club confirmed the news on social media.

Gerrard had appeared to cool talks of a shock switch to return to the dugout but he has agreed the move after a U-turn.

A short post on Twitter confirmed: "Where legends are found.

"We’re thrilled to announce Steven Gerrard is our new head coach."

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jon McCracken from Norwich City on a season-long loan deal.

Jon began his football career at Hamilton Academical and was snapped up by Norwich City at the age of 16 and moved across the border to continue developing his career.

The 23-year-old has been with Norwich for the last seven years and during that time has had two loan spells. Firstly, with League of Ireland side Bohemian where he made five appearances and then with Stevenage FC at the end of last season where he also made five appearances.

It's not big numbers though. Barely missed will be the Saudi players and coaches.

If you have guys like Jota going for £25 Million and getting paid X a week.  That means Celtic will need to start paying more and in turn, we will have to start paying more.
