Yeah, let's see the reaction when club come out saying we know we can't ever win league and that 3rd us the best we will ever achieve.

Definitely not what supporters will want to hear.

Why say anything extreme either way. It’s meaningless fantasy drivel unless your sitting 10 points clear with 7 games to play. Just say we want to improve and be the best we can be.

This can we, yes we can nonsense is a trap the media set all the time for a headline and Joe’s fell right into it the same way Vlad did

It's not a knee jerk reaction because of yesterday's latest pathetic performance. Neilson should've been binned after Brora.

I think that many would agree and it’s clear from the games this season that RN and his coaching staff are limited in their tactical abilities. Yesterday was embarrassing. Our players look unfit. The midfield was non existent and to have no shots on target for a so called attacking team is disgraceful. We are however excellent at passing sideways and backwards.

Good post Jimmy. I don’t want him sacked or anything ridiculous like that but this inability in being allowed to criticise has become tiresome. We are on a bad run since the semi against hibs but the context to that was we secured third place early and teams do switch off no matter what level you are. The slow ineffective football at times is frustrating to watch and the excuses such as mental fatigue are nonsense.

Utd wages are half ours apparently, Hibs and Aberdeen are around the same for crap teams that have sold well but maybe weakened them.

Sacked man don't be ridiculous he's just singed a 3 year deal! And can tinker and get all the bad results he likes

Just here - plastic pitch - no support - yeh bin!

Well having some time to reflect - maybe too early to pass judgement on the guy.  Still fuming about the way we lost yesterday though. The lack of urgency or apparent desire was dreadful. I certainly don’t get playing European  matches or the “excuse” of mental fatigue as being a reason for a display like that.  The team that started yesterday should have been more than capable of winning the game.  No shots on target speaks volumes for the standard produced. Totally unacceptable.

Football by numbers, mate. Professional players have played football all their lives but get micro

managed to f*k.  Can’t we give them their own minds and let them

play?

That would be too easy. They obviously need a system to lay to but football is draining now. It’s over managed.

Agreed .

It’s a good point, for example we kept hitting corners in on Wednesday at a height perfect for Taylor and the GK, nobody thought **** this let’s change it up a bit. Same today with this offside trap, caught by out at least twice trying to implement it and could’ve lost another goal because of it.

We need that set piece specialist macphee back mate, he’s always in steveee gees lug and drawing notes

Kalamazoo Jambo

Kalamazoo Jr was mad that I was going to the game without her yesterday. She has been reassured that I did her a favour by leaving her back in the States. Other than Gordon it was a pathetic display.

That’s fair. Prior to the Europa League first leg though were you expecting group football in that competition?

Admittedly no so I suppose there is a silver lining!

I mind travelling home from Australia a number of years ago to a 6-1 drubbing at Fir Park. Grim.

Hope the rest of your holiday is better. 👍

I would be lying if I said I was not concerned after this loss.

OK, but I think a sense of perspective is required here. We were without three of our four best players yesterday in Halkett, Rowson and Boyce. Added to that we missed Atkinson who would have started ahead of Sibbick, and we're protecting the fitness of Smith by putting him on the bench, also Kingsley is not fully fit.

The absence of Boyce was maybe the most important yesterday and I think people are beginning to realise how important he is to us in the No 10 position. The best way I can describe it is that he brings cohesion to the forward line and McKay always knows where he will be, McKay is not as effective if Boyce is not there.

yeah totally get the injuries are hurting us but our squad has not been assembled properly to challenge on all fronts and that is clearly evident from the past 10 days.

What I am most concerned about is getting stuck in a rut,

Confidence must be very low after losing 5 of the last 6.

Agree about Boyce, he took some pelters but it is really showing how important he was to our game right now.

i just hope we can get him signed up for another few years so he can finish his career with us.

No thanks, he’s already finished. Hopefully we’ve learned from giving ridiculous long contracts to injury prone players past their best.  Remember Naismith?

Leveins Battalion

We need to patch trying to play football at grounds like Livingstons, this is where it's just a battle and to win the battle we need bigger and stronger players.

If you look closely I haven’t said we should sack him.
We dominate games and possession but create extremely few chances, our final ball and crossing has been awful since he came back with not sign of improvement. Passing the ball around slowly at the back allowing teams to get 11 men behind the ball doesn’t help, with no real idea of how to break them down.
Lets face it the rest of the league were poor last season and will continue to be so thankfully. We haven’t progressed though or brought anyone in that will offer something different, we are predictable.
As for the 5 losses by early September , what is the point of dominating if we lose?
You did give me your idea of our best team, I hope Devlin isn’t in it because this German guy has to be better, two DMs that don’t offer much in attack won’t help us progress. We look flat and tired already 8 games in, the fitness levels look poor.
He’s changed formation in every game, does that seem like someone who is confident in his tactics?

Can't argue about that, apart from the comment on Devlin. Yes, he's a defensive player who successfully breaks up oppositions play.  We need an attacking midfielder, but that's not Devlin's fault.

And we're becoming far too predictable.  Teams know exactly how to play us.

I couldn't give a toss about cup finals unless we win them.

I sort of get where you are coming from but unless you get to them you have no chance of winning them...unless I'm fundamentally missing something.

Yeah it’s a bit galling watching that, at least Cathro is nowhere to be seen. They could watch a few videos or ask Smith and Halkett, or even come up with something themselves because our set pieces are terrible.

That’s why I think we need something a bit different from abroad, teams know what Forrest/Shankland and our other players are likely to do.

Sorry mate I don't agree, he may not be the goal scorer he once was but he has proved to be pivotal in linking our midfield to attack.

And we have badly missed him in the last two games.

Can't deny that, however I can't see him lasting three more years, unfortunately.
