Erm, yes. The Gordon deal was possibly VR's greatest success since coming to the club - a masterpiece of aggressive negotiation and refusal to blink first, which resulted in us selling one of our best players for what he was worth for the first time I can remember. The ?10m price tag was derided as fantasy when it was mentioned - we were so used to the Pieman that nobody thought we would get more than ?2-3m. I'm sure I remember weeteam.net exploding with mirth. The fact that we got so close to that astonishing figure was a major achievement in itself. Bizarre that Wolves seem to think that we are an easy touch because we didn't get the full ?10m!
