3 berths left and Sweden, Ireland and Malta still to be called.

Haven't listened to any of the entries so far, but surely the result is already decided.  Ukraine.  Irrespective of what the song's like.  Waste of time going through the whole rigmarole.  Just award it to Ukraine then everyone will be happy.

Wow.

Just wow.

Both semis have had terrible results.

Wow. Pretty shocked that Ireland and Malta didn't do enough.

San Marino I'm not arsed about. Clearly just a Maneskin rip off.

The final's going to be a bit shite with all the pish that "won" the semis this week.

Luckily we have JaJa DingDong to fall back on.

I thought Ireland's entry was appalling at first.  Then I heard the rest of the field, and decided it was merely mediocre; it didn't deserve a decent place in the final, but it was probably better than enough of the other entries to scrape through the semi-final.

Yep.  The Ukraine entry is a bit of fun, but there are several better songs in the competition.  Ah well.

I liked Poland's - except for the fact that it was in English (a pet hate of mine).

Ive been to a few camp Euro parties through the years. It can be a good night if plenty drink to dull the pain.. ! Friends had score sheets we would fill in for song, costume and performance. Winner got a bottle of champers.  Some good nights. Might go watch it in pub tomorrow night .

The Swiss entry, sung by someone with the right voice (Satchmo type), would've been a cracker.

I hate the UK entry. Everything I hate about the state of music these days. Dreary, whiny male vocals. I blame James Blunt and the rest.

We'll finish near the bottom anyway.

Unlike Neil (and most of JKB) I like the UK entry.  I said to Mme. U that I thought the UK would be in the top three.  Her response was something along the lines of "not a chance, doesn't everyone in Europe hate

them?"

But the audience reaction when Sam Ryder walked on the stage just there suggests the UK will do well with the televoters.

You'll have to wait for song 22.  It'll be a surprise, hopefully not of the unpleasant variety.

From Wikipedia:

"Saudade is a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for something or someone that one cares for and/or loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never be had again."
