I can't wait to see the back of Ginnelly tbh. Might be harsh, but I'm sick of his mincing about when he gets the ball in a dangerous area. He might have the skills to look good and tricky at 5's, but its not working at this level. His most dangerous attribute is his pace. Stop trying to to pull off some skill he saw in the Champions League the other night and start using the skill set he has - Kick and chase, he's faster than 90% of the players in the league so will get there before them more often than not. When he decides to stop dead to try and beat a player the chance is gone because invariably the other side have 5/6 folk back at least to defend.

Also not convinced he's a winger. He's looked more dangerous as a striker running between defenders etc.

Boyce and his god awful finishing is starting to become criminal. Failing to convert what should be straight forward chances will see the team punished. He's not a bad player, but we badly need to try and improve on him in the summer window.

Maybe I'm being overly negative but I wouldn't give a single outfielder on either team more than a 5. Neither team could retain possession, use it effectively when they had it, or capitalise on opposition errors. Gino gets a 3 or a 4 - wrong decision every single time. I'd have subbed him instead of Woodburn today.

Maybe half that figure?

Chalk it up as a run out for fitness. Nobody did brilliantly. Few better than others but probably best to forget this one asap.

Can you imagine the seethe if Boyce plays in the cup final and puts in a performance like today's?  And he WILL play in the cup final, and there is no reason to believe that he'll be any better than today.

Exactly what I expected for Ginnelly from a lot of supporters  because every team needs a scapegoat, but bollocks imo. Certainly not his best game but he was one of the few players who looked like he could create or score . Missed a sitter for sure but so did many others.

I couldn't make out if Woodburn was supposed to be, forward or midfielder, but at least he tracked back and defended well. He was subbed for a reason though.

Mom for me was Sibbick 8, Haring 7, Ginnnelly 7, GMS 7. The rest 6 except Boyce 5.

Don’t get the Boyce hate, he was poor today but has been quality since he’s started playing deeper with simms up top.

The same goes for the Ginnelly situation, he was literally our best player vs Dundee Utd a week ago. Football fans really are a fickle bunch….

Ginnelly is not the required standard. The guy doesn’t look interested. You’d think he’d be desperate to do well given we have a cup final and European football. English league 2 beckons for him.

Boyce misses two huge chances today. Any chat of him being not worthy of a place in the lineup is mental though. He's been an integral part of our good run, if you can't see that I'm not sure football is for you. Players are allowed the odd bad game.

It’s not just today. He misses chances every week. Even Berra at the end was faster than him. During our good run he has been one of our poorer performers.

Gordon 8 - different class as usual even the way he picks up his water bottle 😎

Atkinson 8 - solid, agree with  MOTM really excited for what he will bring next season

cochrane 7 -  steady game

sibbick 7 - bit more assured  than previous games

Haring 8 - solid from the big man, reads the game so well.

moore 6-  also  steady but does give me the fear.

mckay 7- drifted in and out today I thought but always wants the ball, will be massive for us next season.
Ginnelly -3 so frustrating after last week.

woodburn 6 - good shift, more required tho

boyce 4-  hopefully saving it for the final is all that can be said.

MS 6 - agree not the worst but alway feel there’s more in the tank.

subs

Simms 5 - made a difference, please stay up Everton

Halliday 5- grafted as always, good to see him back and get minutes under his belt.

Gordon - 7 couple of decent saves

Atkinson - 6 Played well and put plenty decent balls in but the strikers movement and finishing let him down.

Sibbick - 5 Got away with it due to opposition but still gives me the fear

Moore - 8 My MOTM today thought he was excellent

Cochrane - 5 Steady

GMS - 5 Quiet game but couple of decent passages

Haring 7 - Usual Peter Haring won the ball back numerous times.

Woodburn - 6 Thought he had a decent game but needs to stop losing the ball in dangerous ares as better teams will punish us.

Ginelly - 2 Bit better second half but never looks interested to me

McKay - 4 Prefer him on the left thought he went missing in central area.

Boyce - 1 Worst on the park have no idea why he wasnt the first subbed off.

McKay at least an 8. His passing and vision is sublime. He’s laying it on a plate for Boyce - and others.

he does his job and more - tracked back late in the 2nd half to do defensive duties as well.

Boyce looked much better when Sims came on and he could drop deeper.

Haring was the best player on the pitch.

Gordon had a couple of good saves as well.

Although Moore and Sibbick played ok it was noticeable that they hardly won a single header all day!

I'm done with Boyce. I know he does some good work throughout a match but game after game he fluffs golden chances. Whether it is missing a penalty or a one v one he comes up short more often than not. He had some decent touches today but he blew it with the missed chances. He is a forward who I have no confidence in.

While I'm a bit meh on Ginelly.

You are spot on about Boyce.

His form in the deeper role has been pivotal to the teams form.

Trouble is he has to hit the net more often .

I'm telling you mate we would sorely miss him.

And he and Simms click.

Those 2 play in the final is a must.

He isn't a natural centre forward.

But that deeper role suits him and the team.

His movement for his goal against Utd shows his experience.

Needs to start with Simms.

Boyce has been quality along with Simms.

Boyce and McKay have benefited greatly from Simms.

Up top he was gash today, but he's still one of our best players.

Folk even considering dropping Boyce v rangers in the final should give their final ticket to someone else.

Football isn't for them.

Debut 4

Every player has a great day eventually. Hopefully Boyce’s lands on cup final day. His finishing is poor and that was clearly evident earlier in the season.

He’s experienced though, works hard and never gives up. A real mixed bag of a player but we need his best bits for the showpiece.

Not often I agree with you in any way shape or form but thats pretty much where I was. Boyce looked far better later on but missed two chances he should be taking. Ginnelly I didnt realise was playing until late on but he perked up. Was quite flat footed today though i felt.

Agreed hes not playing great just now and is definitely missing chances like today and the semi but  that saying I thought he done really using his body to get his goal at Utd last week.

him and Simms have clicked well and with McKay playing them in I’d say that’s are best chance of lifting the cup 👍

The one in the last minute he should have scored but it was unlucky the one not long before was an awful miss. Maybe confidence but i was thinking outside of the right bit of power and there was a huge gap to hit the net. If it gets blocked we had two following up. Rolled it meekly under Laidlaw and never looked like scoring it
