It all depends who's making the VAR decisions.

I've got no confidence it would be any better.

Agreed.

The officials and OF will still try to cheat us to a standstill but it will make it more difficult.

The Old Tolbooth

The trouble with VAR is that it’ll be run by weegies with an agenda, if they employed  folk in a different country to run it then fair enough, but it’ll be a case of “and now we can go over to VAR to see if their goal was offside, and it looks miles onside according to our weegie technology”

Rhats!!

Exactly. What we need is foreign referees. The SFA ones show themselves up as cheats week-in week out.

Don't think so. They wouldn't be able to use the "split second to make a decision" excuse, and the video evidence would be there for everyone to see so the couldn't ignore it.

The ref made up his own ****ing rules with that stoppage, they'd use VAR in exactly the same way.

the ref stopped play when hearts broke with the ball with 3 players because a celtic player pulled up then gave celtic the ball and they didn't kick it back to hearts ****ing  cheating:rifle: *******s

Tonight was an example of how 'these things even out' works in Scottish football, Rangers won with a dodgy penalty last night / Celtic win with an offside goal tonight. The fact that ourselves and Hibs will get feck all next time we play the uglies is neither here nor there, that's not how 'evening up' works.

Sounds close to Boris's idea of evening up????

VAR, if it ever comes to our pissy wee league needs to be farmed out to an independent mob, no SFwanks, old pals, over the hill cheats, etc

We all know nothing like that will come about but, more or less it'll come down to funny handshakes and sweeping brushes as per the norm.

Always Corrupt to the Core and Always will be unfortunately

Weegie VAR would say there was no 'clear and obvious' error therefore decision stands. Unless the referee hasgiven a decision against the bigot bros in which case he'll be invited to look at the monitor which will be placed immediately in front of the Green Brigade/Union Bears.

That's where I'm at.

Factual decisions like offside will work, penalties and Red cards are still judgement calls and VAR will just be another set off corrupt eyes looking for infringements to cancel out goals or reasons to give them, depending who's playing of course.

You just need to watch VAR tonight at Man Utd game. McGuire grabs guy by arm, pulls him down, and ref gives nothing. VAR review it and decided it was okay.

It was a stonewall penalty. In second half, VAR then decide that foul for Man Utd is a penalty.

The same will happen up here. No way will Celtic or Rangers be subject to fairness, they wouldn't stand for it.

As for our refs, they are a ****ing disgrace.

I wouldn’t trust that lot to run a bath never mind VAR.

It’ll not be here anytime soon or as long as the arse cheeks can defer it

You are correct. However the whole world will see what we are up against. The answer of course will be a Boris denial.

VAR won’t stop the weegie refs stopping play when you are attacking to allow the old firm to make subs for players with injuries.

Simply a disgrace and made a laughing stock of a league which isn't viewed in a high regard.

A great advert for Scottish football ruined by a blazingly obvious error.

In the lower leagues in Germany it's available and people watching on TV here last night were laughing out loud that the"goal" was allowed to stand.

We're a footballing backwater. While the rest of the footballing world moves forward and develops, we stay the same.

Said it in another thread but

We are all missing the point on VAR that it will still be weegie referees in the VAR room making decisions 🙄

Then should sub contract this sorry mess to the Bundesliga guys in Köln who may be a bit more less prone to influence.

That was in cold light of morning a truly breathtaking error made.

The quicker we gat VAR, the better off we will be, said it for long enough, blatant offside goal against us,the glasgow mafia strikes again.

Dislike them very much and what they stand for.

VAR, won't solve everything. Not a hope. Its use down south is clearly proving this.

Anyway at a guess it would be housed somewhere in Hampden Park as both the SPFL and SFA would consider that more than neutral as a venue. Beaton, Columb, and Madden would take turns to officiate it, that would be dependent on who Celtic and Sevco were playing at the weekend.

You just need to look at VAR in England this week.

Leeds and Man Utd won games after penalties missed by referees were correctly given.

It's true the 'was it clear and obvious mistake' principle means some penalties aren't given. But it's getting a lot of things right. And it would stop clearly offside goals.

I have no confidence whatsoever in VAR being implemented in Scotland. An offside goal like last night's will not be overruled by VAR if left to our officials to operate in a game where Rangers or Celtic are going to lose out. It will not happen.

The whole system is corrupt, with officials under the control of 2 clubs.

Kidd’s Boots

Fear not fellow Jambo’s, I’ve had it on good authority this morning that James Anderson has approached Pfizer to supply 2 jabs and a booster each season that will fight the effects of Cabal1888 & NewcoVid when VAR reaches us. Won’t stop it, but we won’t feel the effects quite as badly!

We've got to bring VAR in at least to get rid of the offside goals the old firm always seem to get against us, it happened recently with the other lot - Morelos at Tynecastle. The truth is the refs are shit-scared of their numerous and obsessive fan bases and if in doubt EVERY TIME call is for Rangers and Celtic. It's a disgrace to be honest and happens every single week whoever they are playing.

I agree though apart from offsides I am sure they will find a way of VAR favouring them, let's see but it surely can't be worse than it is now. When he stopped the game for a leg injury I honestly couldn't believe what I was watching, it's not even in the rules of football, unbelievable
