Walker

Would Jamie Walker be a decent make shift option as a striker to come on for injured or out of form Boyce? I mean he does like a goal and imo I think he is still one of the best finishers at the club, prefers being played centrally too, maybe something we could consider until January? as we are not scoring enough goals at the minute.

Thoughts ?

No , though he would have done as much as Gnando today which is nothing at all

Worth a shot. Gnando offers nothing. Not sure Walker physical enough but worth a try. We may need to look for an out of contract striker though if finance allows

Not a chance. If it is not Gnando up top in Boyce’s absence it’ll be Woodburn.

Hopefully woody finds his shooting boots soon then 👀

Worth a shot.

Knows where the net is.

Mentioned on another thread but our wingers and centre mids have contributed nothing in terms of goala this season, unless I'm mistaken.

Jamie Walker is the answer to nothing unless you want to get pisher.

Has been finished for a long time now. Needs to be asked to leave in January.

Have to admit, even though I really like Woodburn, there were a couple of times when he got within shooting distance and blazed over and I wished it had been Walker in that position.

One thing about Walker is he knows how to drill a low shot from distance and get it on target.

Hope walker does get a move to start playing again, he would’nt be any worse than what mackay Steven Gino or nando have produced so far this season

Yeah either Woodburn or Walker just behind the main striker or Woodburn up front.

I'd have McEneff or Walker on the bench for Halliday. Maybe Halliday's left sidedness gives him the edge.

Def. time to shuffle the squad. Neilson said he didn't want to change up a squad that was playing well.

After today, a change is fully merited.

Worth a try, might be better to play Woodburn up there though as we’re not getting the best out of him just now.

Neilson's probably given more games to Walker the any other manager he's had.

I’m sure it said on SSN both were injured, but should definitely be on the bench at least when they’re fit.

Walker is a decent finisher. Would have preferred him on the park today than Gnando.

Would have preferred him to Woodburn today, some of the chances he had to shoot. Would like to see Ginnelly going back to what he did before in terms of cutting in and shooting from distance. We haven't seen that this season.

Hindsight wonderful thing but the like for like (ish) swapping of Mackay, Woodburn for Mackay-Steven and Ginnelly didn't work.

Walker and or, MacEneff should have been on the bench.

Haring .e.g (today) was a waste of a sub.

53 goals for the club, certainly knows were the back of the net is.  Looked good against Inverness in league cup before his injury and looked sharp against Ross County away.  For some to claim he is finished is baffling!

GMS scored against Celtic. Had a couple of assists and won two penalties. Think he scored one or two in league cup as well.

Halliday was a waste of a sub maybe. We should have brought Haring on like we did in the Celtic win IMO.

Well between being injured and Jammies not being better than who is on the bench you mean 🤨 He is no the answer by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah, you are right there.

Still feel we need more from our midfield/wingers in that department though.

Only chance anyone has is in training as there's no other games ,

He's doing it in training games so can't be far away from making the squad while others in similar positions ain't scoring

The team as done well so far, but the weaknesses in the squad are beginning to show, and they're all up front in the striking department.  Boyce is a class act but for me Gnando doesn't work as the big target man/striker. GMS , Mackay and Gino are doing their bit but we need a penalty box striker and somebody to hold the ball up in the box better than Gnando.

Jamie Walker would have been a better sub than Gnando in the circumstances.

Don't think so, more likely Woodburn would be moved In I expect.

I want McEneff to get a chance but Walker I'm not fussed on anymore tbh

I think Walker could still do a job in the last 20 minutes when we need a goal, though not as an out and out striker. People looking for goals instead from Woodburn should check his career stats. Not a striker.

But if he played in a striker position

Walker or McEneff should have been on the bench yesterday, it's pointless having both Haring and Halliday on there.

If Boyce is injured then Wednesdays selection will tell a story. If Walker isn’t his replacement in the matchday squad then I tend to think you are correct.

Nope, Neilson said during the week that he had two players that deserved to be in the matchday squad but didn’t have enough space for them. My reading was Walker and McEneff.
