Give #4 a perm and he'd be Ray Dorset circa 1970.

Yes and he did. Hadn't remembered we'd been stuck with him for four years or thereabouts.

Aye - although like the majority of managers, he had  some good periods as well as awful ones.   Signed some good players (Park, Prentice, Busby, T.Murray ).

Howard kendall on the bench  ?

It's possible. It's from a Cup tie in the early 60s between Oxford and Preston when Kendall was a young player at Preston.

Danny Blanchflower.

Yep - as Chelsea manager, he signed Eamonn Bannon and was sacked a few weeks later.

Aye - I thought that as well.       He was a fabulous midfielder for Everton.

Howard Kendall in the early 60s was the youngest player to play in a FA Cup final for Preston. Might have been 1964 against West Ham.

Then I think Paul Allen of West Ham became the youngest in the final against West Ham in 1980.
