Auldbenches
What is the best own goal you've seen scored for us? Mines was in a derby that didn't mean anything. It was Gordon Rae in a sunday testimonial or that game for Tom Hart. I was right behind the goal when alex McDonald put a ball back into the box and Rae scored with a brilliant header. Fort Vallance
A bit off topic but remember Gary Mackay scoring at both ends against Hibs. The significance was that the og made him Hibs joint top goalscorer at that point.

martoon
I scored an og in the "house" football competition in 1st year. Header straight from a corner. Terrible feeling. My dad was a security guard at Bruce(Parsons) Peebles at the time. We lived in Ferry Road Drive, and I would get him a Pink from Colin Barr's shop(he was a big Hibby) and take it to my dad. I was walking past the old St David's school singing we've got Bobby, Bobby Prentice on the wing a wee bit to loudly and five Hibs supporters came round the corner. Clocked me heard my singing and in true Hibby fashion ask, what team do you support? I thought the Maroon and White scarf was a giveaway. Me being the cheeky git, replied Hearts, who do you support?( their own Green and White scarves the give away). It all kicked off. I got a good couple of punches and kicks in, but came off second best. Burst lip and bruise on the cheek. Dad went apeshit when he saw me and said no more going to games on my own. I was 13 and a half at the time. There was no way I was not going to the games, and my dad knew it.

henryheart
The best own goal I've seen by a Hearts player was Malcolm Robertson's screamer into his own net in the last game of the season against Motherwell in 1976-77. My memory may be blurred, but my recollection is that he went in for a 50/50 challenge for the ball, got there first, hit the ball perfectly and it went exactly in the direction he was facing (his own goal) with no deflection and low into the net. He was well outside the box. The great thing about it was that it didn't matter; we were already relegated and we won the match 3-
