Rhubarb my choice for crumble and if left a tad too long in the oven the crunchy bits that are welded on to the dish.....😜

rhubarb for me as well, the tartness from the rhubarb is what makes it stand out. if you have apple crumble you need to add lots of cinnamon or blackberries etc to add some extra flavour

Hard choice.

I'd probably pick Rhubarb but could easily change depending on the mood. Mind being over for dinner at someones house and they had made an apple crumble but had put peaches through it too. Was very good.

I go all in - Rhubarb and Apple with a few Brambles chucked in to boot!

Footnote:Rhubarb is ridiculously expensive in supermarkets

Apple. Rhubarb is a big no for me.
And pudding rules apply, hot crumble or pie with ice cream, cold crumble or pie with hot custard.

Never tasted peach crumble though. That sounds interesting

Don't like the sound of that.

Probably a reason it's not popular.

Apple....with really good quality vanilla ice cream.

Hate Rhubarb. My first house had a Rhubarb patch when i bought it. Must have cleared it umpteen times before it stopped growing back.

Crimble crumble

That smells nice.

My mum occasionally made what she called Jamaican crumble with bananas, brown sugar and raisins. Not as good as rhubard though.

Apple. Hate the stringy texture of rhubarb.

I’m the same. Years ago I went to a girlfriend’s parents for a meal and to meet her family for the first time. Her mother was a chef and the meal was fantastic and then she produced rhubarb crumble for dessert. I forced my way through it out of politeness. As I finished her mother burst out laughing and said “you don’t like rhubarb do you?” Turns out she’d spotted it when I saw it but decided to enjoy my suffering. Finished it though.

The sheep's heid does a mean apple and rhubarb crumble.

I like both, both together but I prefer apple. I'm a sucker for anything with custard. Sticky toffee pudding is great but apple crumble and custard is just too good.

Apple, with raisins and a wee bit of cinnamon in it.  More crumble than apple though, and custard.

Rhubarb all day long. Lovely with some Mackies ice cream.

I like apple too but often people put cinnamon in and I hate that.

Rhubarb. With milk not ice cream or custard.

Do you use the milk on the crumble because you ate your cereal dry? Deviant!

You really have to be mentally ill to like rhubarb. Or a deviant.

Not a fan of apple pie either, but I can eat it. Pies should be full of dead animals.

Raspberry and blackcurrant from my mums garden, sweetened with honey. Topped with hot custard or cold double cream.

Apple. Still have nightmares about eating rhubarb as a child and having a wee bag of sugar to dip it in. 🤮

Did the same but I liked it.

Did you ever try to smoke cinnamon sticks?

A fairly simple rule to live by,  fruit is cold, veg is hot. Simple*

*Except for the weird cases where there are fruits that should really be veggies,  and vice versa. Stick to the vibe of the thing though, you won't go wrong

I liked it too, it's the thought of that much sugar that bothers me now.

Cinnamon sticks - no.

I like apple, but my absolute favorite is Pecan.

In a crumble? That sounds as though it would be drier than Gandhi's sandal.

Freak.

Our neighbours have an orchard by their holiday home so bring us tons of apples which get stewed and crumbled all the time. So apple crumble bores me and I always want to find something to add, such as brambles.

I'd like to try a nice rhubarb crumble, though. But with custard, just like the TV show. (Naddle-di-dah, naddle-di-dah, naddle-di-dup-di-dah!)

Prefer rhubarb, but happy with both or a combo.

We bought some good quinces a few weeks back. Thin sliced into apple crumble and cooked so they are still al dente. Fantastic

Also like apple and blackcurrant - I'm growing several blackcurrant bushes int he garden with a long term view to freezing enough to have at least a monthly crumble
