Pure speculation from me but I'm pretty sure this is the end of the old chap. Prince Charles visiting him in hospital, which wouldn't happen unless it was serious.

Once he is gone I reckon auld Queeny won't be far behind him.

Bummer for him if he does go. Four months until his wife sends him a telegram.

Spot on. You should have seen the look of terror my old man had, every time I visited him in hospital.

Pure speculation that a 99 year old man recently admitted to hospital might die?

Worlds gone mad.

The Duke of Edinburgh has always split opinion. Some look upon him as a toxic, racist, misogynistic brute of a man with a very dodgy history around the time of WW2 and some see him differently.

True. There's folk out there who don't care what door he leaves that hospital via. 😉

We'll be asked to step into the streets and clap.

Captain Tom was just a warm up for what is expected of the nation. This'll be what'll cement the Union - the death of a much loved royal. Especially when they start wanting to put a statue up...

He may, or may not be near the end.  However it doesn't help the nation's mood to have two guys who are dressed like funeral directors standing at the hospital door.

Had to laugh when he asked a Scottish driving instructor how he managed to keep the locals sober long enough to get them through the test!

Driving to visit someone in hospital is classed as essential travel. Whether or not the hospital let you in is a completely different matter.

Eh. Obviously the speculation is that he is dying.

I'm sure that you'll be able to visit your dad before he pops his clogs

It really is pathetic, NT. Vile. The same characters who flog the "saving lives" line when referring to Covid.

We’ll they did give King George V a lethal injection so his death would be in the Times in the morning instead of the evening papers.
