Neil Dongcaster
What simple things in life make you happy? I get weirdly happy when the bins get emptied. When I manage to turn the programme I’m watching back on the second the adverts finish. Cooking for people who appreciate the effort and food. Freshly cleaned bedsheets. Warm towels after a shower in the winter. Cake.

A Boy Named Crow
When I get up in the night to go for a slash, flush the toilet, wash my hands, then on the way out, flick the light off at exactly the same time the cistern stops filling. Rarely get it spot on...but that occasional time it works, what a feeling!
PortyJambo
Filling the dishwasher just about as full as it can go before turning it on. Alternatively, starting it when it still has a few gaps makes me disappointed.

Salad Fingers
Getting up early when I'm off and having the TV and living room to myself for a couple of hours before the rest of the house wakes up. I'll make a coffee and watch something on catch-up with the heating on or just read the kindle with only one lamp on. Absolute bliss.

Auld Reekin'
OK, for me... When I bake a loaf of bread - especially if it's sourdough - that turns out perfectly and that you'd be paying £4.50 for in your local deli or artisan bakery. When my homebrew turns out well.
Der Kaiser
When folk trip in the street. When you catch folk doing the big head nod when they fall asleep on the bus. Pressing all the lift buttons when exiting. When you nail a long 3 pointer of rubbish into the bin. Oh... And when I successfully deposit my bus ticket in the hood of the person sitting in front of me. Edited January 5 by Der Kaiser

Along the same lines I remember being very happy when I found a big display of egg timers in IKEA and set them all at 10 second intervals and walked away smugly. Going into John Lewis and pairing the Bluetooth on your phone with a display speaker, popping some offensive music on nice and loud and popping your phone back in your pocket and watch the sales assistants scurry around. I also enjoy doorbell displays in B&Q.

Modern lifts should have an anti-nuisance function fitted that will cancel all calls if it doesn’t detect anyone breaking the door detectors within two floors. Might still get away with it on some old lifts though

A particular favourite of mine being in a tent or caravan. A morning shower (drives the wife mad)…I do maybe spend a bit too long in there😁 My first coffee of the day The smell of my bacon cooking Getting in the car knowing I drive an automatic Catching sight of that volume level on my tv, car stereo being on an even number Seeing people standing at a bus stop at 5am, knowing I’m going to my warm bed Waking up before my alarm clock with more than 2 hours left before I get up. RobboM
There's something really joyous about seeing a dog shaking itself dry, especially if the spray catches anyone nearby 😁 .... and another vote for a coffee. One of those old stovetop fellas, set it up before having a shower and getting dressed and it's ready. It's the coffee and the timing that's a simple pleasure every single time 🙂
