They wanted to be seen as the good guys, rather than take a lead from Ann Budge on the sensible route of negotiating wage cuts. The longer clubs go with no paying spectators of any great number, the more critical the financial siruation of some will become. That's where the sterling work and vision of Petrie's JRG will come to the fore. Or not. Or not I suspect. If this shitstorm lasts much longer at a guess I reckon Scotland will be lucky to last a season with all divisions intact unless many players go amateur and play for expenses only. Only my view mind. However, as the biggest spenders they will have the biggest ongoing wage bill. We should start to see the extent of the liabilities for deferred wages later this month when the full year accounts are published. Other clubs, including Aberdeen Rangers and Hearts will follow during October/November. Interesting, would have thought any evidence of the club knowing about what was going on at the boys club would void any insurance pay out? Everything, EVERYTHING came back to Celtic. Every song. Every conversation. EVERYTHING. This is an example of the banter. We brought 164 bottles of Stella, 3 litres of vodka and 10 bottles of mad dog. The boy that went to the shops and bought it all, in his 40’s, sat up the night before we left and replaced every label on every bottle with stickers of “the broony” and “GB Ultras” stickers. 177 bottles, label peeled off and new sticker put on. Embarrassing. They thought this was the funniest thing that’s ever happened. There isn’t a fan base out there like them, melters to a man. I spoke to Adam, the boy that runs the old firm facts twitter page. He says Rangers/Hearts/Hibs fans etc if they vote will say “**** off” and then move on. Celtic fans send him details blogs about how he’s a mason and how they’ll expose him and ruin his career if he doesn’t stop making jokes about Neil Lennon. Tuned to the moon. They can be rabid. I know a couple who are quite balanced outside the football stuff and good guys. As a side not, my step brother when he got married got his hair dyed white, red and blue, fans from both sides make sure their only patter is the football and everything is consumed by it. That culture is prevalent throughout Scottish society and is why I hate both the ****ers. Celtic fly flags saying no tories and supporting Palestine while they are owned by tories and sign Israeli players, they boo remembrance day while missing the irony of why they are free and allowed to boo in the first place. On the other side we have the Scottish hating, loyalist loving, monarch loving arseholes who celebrate England and sing their national anthem at Scottish club game football and cheated us and Scottish football for a decade and still pretend they never died. Both horrible, but celtic atm have the power so are more obvious, but in all honesty I don't care who is in charge, both are cancers on our game and society. It's the sense of humour bypass that gets me about both cheeks of the OF. I've worked and socialised with OF fans who are normal and funny on every other topic, then become majorly weird when football comes up. They have none of the self-deprecation fans of every other club in Scotland has. It always made following Scotland abroad a joy because OF fans generally didn't go and you could have brilliant football chat with fans of clubs form all over Scotland. They can't show weakness, if they take the piss out of themselves it means they are validiting the other one. The seem to always need to justify their position over the other. My other step brother won't listen to Paulo nutina, Stewart or gerry cinnamon, he can't watch or listen to a "taig". Imagine having your personal and political choices run by a football team, as a side note they always sing about Catholics but have had several in their team.🙄 Irony doesn't go with rangers or Celtic fans. Worked with several sevco fans who, at Xmas time switched the radio off when Fairytale of NY came on. Best Xmas song ever imo so I always made sure I had my speaker close by and the song ready to go, pissed them off no end. Serves them right. It's just pathetic really, they tried to retaliate by playing The Proclaimers Sunshine on Leith but it just annoyed them even more when I didn't lose my head over it 😁. The one that really got me (many years ago, mind) was two Northern Irish schoolgirls who were being interviewed on the TV about what they wanted to do as a career. They both agreed that they wanted to be child minders or work in a nursery school. And then one of the girls added "for Protestant children". It was then that I decided that it would be difficult to ever have peace in Northern Ireland with attitudes like that ingrained in the kids. Fortunately, I was eventually proved wrong. Brentford maybe always best placed. Celtic have missed out on a few players now for that extra £1 million or so. McGinn was my personal favourite. Celtic kept undercutting Hibs asking price massively only for them to sell him to Villa for less than what they demanded from Celtic. Quite right too. I'd always expect us to have 2 asking prices, one for clubs outwith Scotland and one for clubs within.

Their idiotic, bigoted hatred of each other is yokked by their respective boards to keep the coffers flowing with these "rivals" oblivous to the fact they are just a mirror version of their counterparts. Palestine flag? Israel flag! UVA? IRA! Ireland? England! Ad nauseam... It's ****ing laughable when they accuse the other of bigotry & sectarianism. Witness any debate online, say a Tom English post about our training ban and they'll immediately turn it into a whataboutery session where they get to indulge in their favourite pastime of making everything about them and their rivals. It is mostly funny, I suppose, that we have an entire section of society as lost pod people but when these attitudes permeate schooling, local politics and clog up A&E departments when a loss to the other mob, sees these ill-educated troglodytes take out their frustrations on their loved ones, it becomes less amusing and far more sinister. Still, it's nice when the bullying tactics of their boards don't work and they get told to go forth and multiply.
