I've actually got back out of bed to come and sit in the living room and watch it with the dog. The wife is still through there sleeping though!

They do say a man’s best friend is a dog.

If this was 2019 then I'd say it's just an awesome storm. But given it's 2020 and the way that's going, this might be the start of the apocalypse.

Calmed down a lot but still the odd flash over me. Sat with every window in the house open.

Love it.

Not calmed down where I am. Biggest boom of the night a couple of minutes ago.

I was at an event on Calton Hill tonight and the steps up from Waterloo Place were like a muddy waterfall. I’ve never seen them like that. Carrying my bike up in cycling shoes with a metal cleat on the sole was a bit sketchy. Coming down An hour later was worse.

CavySlaveJambo

these are all either holding or diverting from Edinburgh. I think they’ll be diverting.

Easyjet to Glasgow, Ryanair to Presteigne. so tomorrow am will see all these planes being flown across.

Complete tangent but what happens in the situation that your flight lands at another airport? Assume they have to put on a bus service to get you to your initial airport?

Juat got bavk from going out for a drive. Theres a few roads wont see the morning. Big cracks with water pishing through them under the bridge on the corner of Robertson Av and Gorgie Road.

The corner at the bottom of Craiglockhart Road where the Prince Charlie Bridge is has lumps missing out it and water pishing through it like those yank fire hydrant. Theres a big chunk as wide as the road ready to go.

Theres a few manhole covers for BT/CATV with water flowing out them.

Big flood on Colinton Road on the corner at the railway bridge by the carpet shop.

Its all fun.

Can confirm that Balcarres Street is flooded & impassable, and at the other end near Myreside it's touch & go. I've never seen anything like this in all my days.

I grew up there and it’s always been the case there. Knew a lad who stayed just before the bend who I had to help stack sandbags at his front door trying to stop it. They’ve done fek all over the years to prevent this and they’ve even built a retirement block where the garage was. Those old folk in there will be having a panic.
