I told a Celtic fan at work, after he got the job permanently on the strength of beating us in the 2019 cup final, that it would have been better for Celtic had they not got that soft penalty and then lost that game. If we had held on for the deserved win, Lennon wouldn’t have got the job and Celtic would have probably got in a good manager to complete the 10 in a row.

The same applies for the 2020 final. Hearts win and Lennon is sacked in time. Lawwell has completely messed up their Holy Grail by penny pinching and the cheap option of giving Lennon that job at a crucial time for them.

As others have said, he won’t be remembered for his part in their quadruple treble. He’ll be remembered for allowing Rangers to stop 10 in a row.

To be fair, pulling good results out of the bag when they're struggling is often how managers cling on to their jobs for longer. Levein is a great example as well. Lennon's appointment was so strange though and the way it happened.

Lennons a ****witt .

To call the need to isolate as ludicrous ,its one of the most important ways to try to halt the spread, then to says it political

His comments are actually potentially harmful to getting people to behave .

Plus the political bit on the end sounds clearly appealing to the paranoid element of the tic support very Trumpian.

In the current circumstances he should be pulled up for it by the JRG for that reason. This will hardly have made the Scottish gov think better of the way football is handling things.

And let's face it, this season is pretty much they've had competition in those 10 years too.

For Celtic to win their 8.79 iar was proper candy from a baby stuff. Not only weren't Rangers around for most of it and then shite until tjmh7s season, even we have been batshit when in previous times we may have at least mounted more of a fight than Derek final hurdle McInnes ever did

Why does anybody think this is even a remote possibility. Absolutely absurd. The Daily Record only mentioned Null and Void as clickbait sensationalism and its worked a treat.

I don't but Celtic are gagging for it to avoid Sevco getting the title.

On clubs and, even more profoundly, on individuals. One interview in the media this week prompted a wide-ranging discussion at the Joint Response Group meeting on the ongoing impact of the virus, specifically to those who continue to play and coach within the elite sporting exemption afforded to football. It made people stop, think and take note of a heartfelt personal perspective."

Twisted Robbo's interview to make out it was the stance of his club, who then denied that. Shameless and he should walk.

If they were acutely aware of the impact on the national game and on individuals, why was only 1 league canvassed about stopping?  Is it only people in the championship who are affected by Covid? Are premiership coaches and players immune to mental health challenges?

For the avoidance of doubt, those questions are rhetorical. Surely by the law of averages there should be at least 1 person in a position of power within the SPFL/SFA who isn't a total self-serving moron.

Only Lennon could say the Dubai trip was well planned and any criticism is hysterical and on the same day announce another player testing positive. Talk about karma.

I think it was all about deflection for SFA.  Let's start conversations about anything rather than Celtic, Dubai, who did what and when.  It has largely failed mostly because Celtic fans whnt Lennon gone.

From reports there is a suggestion by Lennon the Celtic players don't actually have Covid.

Celtic definitely want it but we're getting so close to the point at which they awarded titles early last season I can't see how they could get enough support for null and void. Think it would have to be a government ordered stop to get make it fly, so a team would need to break regulations and see an increase in cases often enough for the government to get pissed off and pull the plug.... Hmmm....

Rangers would obviously be against and Hibs, Aberdeen and Livi all have realistic chances of getting into Europe. In the Championship, Dundee, Dunfermline, Raith and Ayr all have realistic chances of promotion.

Plus even Doncasterwell would struggle to find a rationale for null and void going from not on the table to the top choice. My big worry would be them banning promotion and relegation using the excuse teams haven't played enough games to deserve promotion. The shit would hit the fan if they did that thought and there's really no practical reason other than pure spite.

Not such a cheap option then. Makes Lawwell’s decision to make him manager an even bigger mistake.
Unless the going rate for a proper manager, for the stature of club that Celtic think they are, is much greater than that.

Lennon's comments and conduct are incredible. Pointing fingers at Hamilton, St Johnstone, the Scottish Government. The pointed inverted commas gesture to show what he thinks of footballs privileges.

It's almost like he is goading the Scottish Government to issue that second yellow card Sturgeon threatens from time to time.

According to that link Gerrard is on £2.5m a year so I’m sure they could now get someone like Eddie Howe for instance.

Lennon was the safe option, someone they knew and trusted and was successful before, his appointment was not welcomed by all the fans. Sounds familiar 🤔🤷🏾‍♂️😆?!?!

Or alternatively trying to engineer a way to resign instead of get sacked, as per the last time he left Celtic.

Has there been any official announcement from the SFA about the vote that had to be in by 5p.m. this evening?
I assume that in the absence of a swift statement from the SFA to say that the Championship teams all wanted to stop the 2020/21 season then the answer must have been that the overwhelming majority, if not all, requested that the season continue.

Funny how some news travels fast......

It wasn’t a vote per se just a response to indicate their views. Nothing as yet though either way.

Lennon's appointment was contrived by......well actually, Lennon himself!.....That disgraceful episode at East Barns with Dempster was his way of breaking his contract without Celtic having to pay compensation!

It's just another example of the way they work and the mind set inside Parkhead...

Today's rambling has a deja vu feel to it........"Due to the mental pressure of managing Celtic during these troubled times we have decided to let Neil have time off with his loving family to recover ".....

No sack, put on gardening leave.....never to return...

Former Livi manger Gary Holt was on £7,500 a week? They pay their players about £1,500 a week.

Don't believe that for a second. He was nearly on as much as Jack Ross.

The thing is he didn't have a high pressure job. not while Rangers were spending years trying to get their act together. This season is the first since the "new" team have come back that there has been a serious challenge to Celtic.

For years Celtic has been the easiest job in football. A literal monopoly on the game up here. But that didn't stop Lennon falling out with players, conspiracy theories abounding and  talk of leaks coming out of Parkhead......Lennon's paranoia!

And now Rangers have risen to the challenge  - Lennon and Celtic have spectacularly imploded...
