pablo
They need to put an end to holding the seats now. There's people waiting to buy new season tickets who can't get anything decent together. The club should also be able to move around season ticket seats by one or two seats either way to free up blocks of seats.
letsmakesomenoise
I hope the club start to think a bit “out the box” to attract the season ticket holders who, for whatever reason, have yet to renew. I know a few older guys who have not renewed for health reasons because they want to be in control of when they start attending again, rather than the club or government. For instance, a “retainer” option for this coming season, whereby fans can make a one off payment to retain their seat for either the full season, or half a season. Also, a virtual season ticket, again for a full or half season. To watch all the games at home. Its imperative we get our full fanbase paying to watch the home games. PPV will obviously be another option, with an appropriate markup. This can be wrapped up with Hearts TV. Perhaps a combination of these. Alva-Jambo
So- I must have missed something, we don't get to use Murrayfield? You can distance better there. My understanding is even with distancing , you can't shout, as it spreads droplets. Well who is not going to be shouting. So I am not confident of any crowd return this year. I won’t be taking the discount if possible but anyone who can’t afford to shouldn’t be made to feel bad for it. Last part not aimed directly at you but if we go with the attitude that fans are taking money from the club that’s how it looks. Way I see it we are basically buying a season and a half ticket over the next two seasons, no real net loss to the club imo. Not taking the discount is extra donations. I've got no intention of taking any rebate or discount for last season but didn't see any offered. To be fair I wasn't looking. Was there an offer ? Some will take the discount and others will not. I won’t be taking the discount, and if I’m forced to, I’ll donate the saving to FoH. I think it’s important that we don’t have a situation where those who decide not to take the discount make out that those who do are somehow ‘bad supporters’ or whatever, though. I’ve upgraded to PR this season, but it wasn’t that long ago, that I was only able to go to games because my mate had a spare ticket and he let me use it. I simply couldn’t afford it at the time. Everyone’s situation will be different. We need to find the right balance between fund raising and making sure we don’t alienate those who either simply don’t want to, or can’t afford to. After all, it’s supposed to just be a case of paying for a ticket to go and see your local football team. For some supporters that is all it has ever been, and that is all it will ever be. There’s sod all wrong with that. Great post mate. Also worth noting the guy or girl who lives right round the corner from Tynie and can justify a season ticket and going every week as there is no additional cost of travel can obviously do so easier than some fans who live in different cities maybe wouldn't get the benefit of a season ticket as it is not always viable. However those fans may contribute more to FoH so it may be swings and roundabouts. That was a top post by yourself and it is nice to see someone acknowledge that there may be Hearts fans out there in dire straits, maybe havent attended a game for 5 or 6 years due to circumstances but still love our club as much as folk whos arse is ingrained into their seat. I usually only get to maybe 10-12 games a season as every Hearts game is an away game apart from Dens or Tannadice. Really wish I lived closer as a ST would be 100%. Maybe in the near future i will be in a position to cover all costs involved and if so, will be there every week home and away. We are all in it together, now more than ever. Whodathunk existencialism would ever be presented to us in such stark and easily understood terms. We are talking about the very existence of Hearts and even football beyond it being a TV only experience. I bought my s/t weeks ago in the full knowledge that I am unlikely to enter Tynecastle this side of Christmas. Originally I thought this Christmas, now I think it will be Christmas 2021. Clubs cannot survive without supporters, some will go under, we need to make sure it's not us.
