I knew I’d get that from someone!

I used to own Dark side of the Moon - who didn’t?

Apart from two two or three tracks on that album, I thought PF were pretty poor.

Shame on you. There's me thinking you had taste

I think we've established that music taste is a truly personal thing.

But while we're here, The Beatles  vaudeville shite.

Interesting thread in these times of boredom and endless lists.

Bands you HATE...maybe not the thread for me

1. I do not hate any bands , maybe dislike or cannot engage but not hate.

2. People/band members/musicians  I could hate and trust me after 40 years in the music business I've me a good few that fall into that category.

3. Music is so subjective and what floats my boat will not resonate with you and vice versa for many reasons

4. Music for me is all about emotion and how it effects you, this is the only thing that should be used to qualify music!

I’ve just remembered those scouse bawbags Space. My ex wife loved them but knew better than to put their “music” on when I was was home as she couldn’t be bothered with my reaction.

Generally anything incoherent. Slipknot. Marilyn Manson.  The Spice girls if that counts as a band.  Doubt it.  U2 just to top it off.

Agree totally, and some of the responses on this thread are trying to sound hip by slating anything remotely successful, which I find a bit tiresome.

My taste varies depending on my mood - rock, metal, electronic, and even some pop when I feel like it.

You don't like Nirvana, Pink Floyd, U2, The Beatles, Iron Maiden etc, fine - no one cares, but don't try and pretend they aren't talented!  Bands still popular 40 or 50 years after their first album must have had something going for them.

Peter Docherty I never got. I recall him getting a huge platform at that Live8 thing back in 05 but he was just far too shite to slam dunk it. Ed Sheeran is totally shite mind you so what do I know.

Nailed it. I'm a big Beatles fan but if someone says they don't particularly like them then fair enough. It's when some Joey comes on here trying to sound hip by stating the most influential band the world has ever known (as agreed by pretty much every musical performer on the planet) are actually shite, then it's actually laughable.

Not really. The jam were my band, but I liked bad manners and the specials.

The Jam were my band as well.

Still are tbh

Their songs still are still relevant and classy and always will be imo.

No one said they were untalented. No one is trying to pretend. Folk on here are just highlighting bands that they dislike...now unravel your Wolseley's.

Exactly, you'd have thought the thread title would've been a dead giveaway.

Out of interest, what makes Marilyn Manson incoherent?

The Lighting seeds.. Heard the guy singing on TFI Friday, ch4... couldn't sing worth a sook...

See I love their early stuff. Pure is one of my all time favourite songs. Just a great pop song.  It reminds me of being 15 and Cloudcuckooland was the first 'indie' album I bought.

Three Lions totally ruined them.

Ian Broudie is a great songwriter imo.

A tricky one. I teach music and do a lot of playing work and have to disagree about Mozart. He is clearly a genius. And I listen mostly to classical music these days, although mainly late Romantic / 20th century music.   But you undoubtedly have a point about the people who listen to it. 90% of the audience at a classical music concert are arseholes.

On topic - bands I hate. Stone Roses. The Charlatans. Happy Mondays/Black Grape. All that Madchester pish.

I'd rather listen to Lonnie Donegan than the Beatles.  That's a fact.  Why?  Because it's called personal choice.  I am also sharing this fact, so don't get upset.

Do I hate the Beatles?  No.

I am sure everyone else is entitled to dislike  Lonnie.  I couldn't care less.
