FERNANDO SCREPIS is seeking legal advice on his contract situation with Hearts after failing to obtain an answer from the club about his future.

The Argentinian midfielder has passed his contract documents to an English-based law firm hoping Hearts will finally recognise the three-and-a-half-year deal he signed with them.

The contract, signed during a trial period in Austria last summer, didn't take effect until January 1, with Screpis agreeing to spend six months with Vladimir Romanov-sponsored FBK Kaunas before defecting to Scotland.

However, since helping Kaunas to the Lithuanian A-Lyga title last November, the 28-year-old has been given no indication of when, or if, his Hearts career will commence.

He was due to arrive in Edinburgh last month to begin training before his contract began, but the Tynecastle hierarchy refuse to give clarification on his situation or whether they still want him. Screpis has returned to Kaunas whilst lawyers investigate on his behalf and explained to the Evening News last week that he is prepared to take his case to FIFA if necessary.

He is currently with Kaunas' Commonwealth Cup squad in St Petersburg, Russia, where the Lithuanian side yesterday qualified for the semi-finals. Former Hearts loanee Linas Pilibaitis played in the 2-1 quarter-final defeat of Dick Advocaat's Zenit St Petersburg, securing a last-four confrontation with Uzbekistan club Pakhtakor Tashkent.

Meanwhile, Deividas Cesnauskis was sent home from Riccarton yesterday complaining of viral symptoms which make him doubtful for Hearts' visit to Aberdeen this weekend.

Andy Driver is toiling with a groin problem and Calum Elliot and Marius Zaliukas are suspended.:);)

"Deividas said he was feeling fine before the game but reported feeling cold and shivery y:rolleyes:

esterday," revealed caretaker manager Stephen Frail.

"We will now have to keep an eye on him with a view to the weekend."

Frail admitted that Andrew Driver is also a doubt for the weekend, having missed the Cup defeat to Motherwell at Fir Park with a groin strain.

The winger will be assessed today and tomorrow before a decision is taken over whether he will make the trip to Pittodrie.

"Andrew is still sore," added Frail, "so we will have to see how he is over the next days or so."

The Hearts assistant is hoping that his side will be able to put their cup exit behind them by heading back to the Capital with all three points in the bag: "It was a big disappointment to go out of the competition so early, although we were a bit unfortunate in the second half.

"We have a big game in Aberdeen this weekend which is our focus now and I am sure the guys will be up for it."

WHY DO THEY TREAT PLAYERS THIS BAD ,FFS, do they expect quality players to WANT to come to Hearts ,really fecking lunatics running our club ,great advertisement for quality signings thinking about a move to Hearts eh,FECKING JOKE THE LOT OFF THEM.:ahhhhhhh:

Why do you assume the club are wrong?

Just because Screpis says, doesn't mean it's true. Or are you the type of Hearts 'supporter' who would rather support anybody but the club in a dispute?

Read the story man for god's sake.

What has Screpis done here? He signed a contract with the stipulation that after 6 months he would move onto Hearts, as was reported in the media when he first signed for us months ago.

VR has renaged on this and is totally 100% accountable.

And what evidence have you got that it is NOT the clubs fault, bit hard to disprove when the club say feck all about anything these days eh, and since you imply that i would rather support anybody but the club does imply to me that you sound unsurprised that the club are not to blame, so Screpis has contacted his lawyers about feck all then with the added risk of being sued by Hearts because he is in the huff, mmm, no smoke without fire me thinks.:cool:
