My mate couldn't stand it though as he's not a fan of a peaty/smoky whisky.

Helzibob
Don’t know if they’re any good but Aldi has their own brand malts, Glen Marnoch, for £17.50. Think they had a highland, speyside and islay. I bought a couple for my dad after reading some decent reviews online.

Right up my street. Noticed ASDA we’re doing Laphraoig 10 yo for £30 yesterday. Last time I was in Voodoo Rooms I finally had a Lagavullin. Wow. Very recent convert to whisky. Love the peaty ones. Any recommendations gratefully received

Adam Murray
Tesco currently have a number of decent for single malts on offer. Talisker 10 yo was £44 now £30 Talisker Skye was £39 now £26 Jura Journey was£35 now £22 Cardhu Gold was £42 now £26 Bowmore 12 yo was £40 now £25 Ardmore Legacy was £31 now £18 Laphroaig Select was £33 now £23 Tamnavullin 1L was £45 now £30 Glen Keith was £30 now £20 Highland Park Dragon Legend was £40 now £30 They also have a number of blended whiskies on offer, as well as some Irish stuff. I regularly buy whisky, but very rarely at the advertised (over) price. There are always offers on at some of the main supermarkets. Steer clear of most of the city centre whisky shops, although Loch Fyne in Cockburn Street is decent. Jamhammer, if your looking for a nice peaty whisky, try The Glendronach peated, if you can get it anywhere just now, i'm a big fan of all things Glendronach, and this was their first venture into peated whisky, which i'm not normally a fan off, but this was excellent. Failing that, try one of the Taliskers on offer from Tesco, the 10 year old is an award winning peaty whisky, and great value at £30.
