Would just be another nail in the coffin of the once great West Edinburgh institution should he be welcomed back. Do you all need a reminder of his actions when we played the mhanks previously?

Any examples of these ‘actions’?

Some rubbish on this thread !!

A reminder , Craig had the chance to sign for Hearts when we saved our club . In fact he had agreed and was training with us , then we sacked the entire goalkeeping department (his mates) and he signed for Celtic instead !

What makes anyone think he would sign for us now ? Nothing will have changed in his mind on that front I'd have thought . This assumption that he's desperate to play for Hearts is unjustified in my opinion .

ideally I totally agree. but....it's a tricky one. We find a very good keeper (e.g. John McLaughlin) - and they leave after a year anyway.

What we need is a Michael Smith equivalent keeper who is competent....but of an age / or unspectacular enough to not leave....

Like another Marian Kello

Just looked him up and he's at St Mirren!

No thanks,  we can't moan about injuries and use it as an excuse for poor performances, then at the same time sign players that are made of glass

He never agreed to sign for us because there was never an offer.

My point still stands , but you carry on with semantics .... if we hadn't sacked the goalkeeping department he would have been a Hearts player . (Not saying we shouldn't have mind)

“Acting like” something is different from calling someone it.

Is this actually true? I remember him training with Dumbarton then Celtic. Don't remember him training with us at the time...

No. It’s made up.

He helped Ian Murray out with coaching at Dumbarton. He trained with Rangers for a couple months. Then signed with Celtic. At no point did he have the opportunity to sign with Hearts.

This is what I read referring to. Above was a wiki link. Below the link could be a different source but you can see what made me mistake him for being at St Mirren.

Yes it's true ....... do some googling and I'm sure you'll find some more .

While in admin he trained with Jamie MacDonald and our then goalkeeping coach . Who subsequently left the club .

From this link it had nothing to do with the sackings in the goalkeeping department ! Rather contradicts your previous post .

He had a chance, after losing a lot of career time , of going straight back to top level football .

Don't think many , even on here , begrudged that

You said he had agreed to sign and would have if we hadn’t sacked the goalkeeping department. That’s the made up part.

No amount of googling will make it any different.

The link showed he had indeed been talking to Hearts it was 2 years after the fact as well . Not going to argue the point on a forum . I know what happened , we'll just have to disagree. 🤔

Yet 'we'll just have to disagree' !

Hearts sign another injury prone player?

Nope. If his name wasn't Craig Gordon, nobody would want to sign a 36 year old keeper with his injury record and the fact he hasnt played for 6-8 months. What is it with the want to bring back ex players all the time?!

We don't need 36 year old, injury prone, Celtic rejects who will want to be our top earner.

The fact he is injury prone plus he would certainly to be called into action more with us, his chances of further injury are therefore high. Too big a risk and I don't think he is as agile as we remember him either.

My Pereira comment is more horrifying than me thinking Gordon was past it based on how it ended at Celtic :ninja: How quickly it became apparent how pish Pereira was but then we were just happy Calamity Bobby wasn't in the nets for a change.

Yup. Happy to be proven wrong.

One thing I did say that was correct is that he was pish at celtic in 2017 and also Scotland.    My reason was correct. He's not busy enough at celtic.

Well done for sorting yourself out Craig.   But yea,,, you were shyte in 2017.

Well colour me surprised he wasn’t as well liked when he was a Celtic player 🤯

I wonder how we’d all feel now if Celtic had actually hired a good manager not Lemmon, and that good manager had rightly given Craig a fat extension on a top wage, and they’d won 10 in a row and he was their keeper.

All we can say is, thank you Neil Lennon. Even Celtic fans hate you as well 🤣😂🤣😭 fud
