There must be some very good coaches at the top EPL clubs who fancy managing. Gerard has done well at rangers. He has a winning mentality and likes to play attacking football. Someone along those lines. I would avoid guys like Moyes, Holloway etc. Undoubtably good cv's but I wonder if football management has passed these guys by and more a younger guys game now. I'd be keen on a continental manager coming in, with new ideas. Doesn't $h!t it driving along the m8! You do realise Clarke and Moyes are the same age don't you? Both played in the Scottish Premier at the same time.

All mouth and no substance, a mixture of Millwall and Peaky Blinders 🙈. If he still wants to manage and was the one to be appointed, I wouldn't be against him. But it could be used strategically to let him abdicate peacefully So how are we ever going to attract a top Manager worth his salt if we tell him he is saddled with Levein’s coaching staff??? We're not and we won't attract anyone who can't bring their own people in. After 2 years if anyone doesn't get the fact the current coaching set up isn't working ; they' re living in denial of the reality of the stats in front of them. No one with any ambition to progress will come to Hearts given the current set up and some of the names being kicked about on here are laughable. AB should have a look at what the guys at Lincoln are doing. An owner with a vision who has invested in exciting coaches with a modern view of what the game is. AB has tied herself to a guy who is yesterdays man and she doesn't know how to get out of it. She's all-in on CL and he will be here until the end of the season. The "board" won't move against him : they're enthrall to AB and will not speak out , it's clear as day.

He, or she, will know professional football well. They will have the ability to see the future, and we do not expect them to make mistakes, or learn, at any stage, as utter success from day one is expected. If a candidate plays a player in the first team who is deemed to be 'utter dugshite', then said manager will be immediately released from their contract, with no further ado. The next 5 years of Heart of Midlothian Football Club is vitally important, and we expect player progressions from the Academy to win the Scottish League and European trophies, whilst also raising more than £100M in transfer fees. Failure is not an option. Having nothing to moan about wouldn’t go down too well with the usual doom and gloom merchants.

hawaii
McTominay talking about Steve Clarke sums up the bare minimum we should be getting from a manager Everybody knows their roles and responsibilities on the pitch and that's first and foremost set out by the manager and his staff and it's very, very clear what everyone has to do on the pitch.
