This guy is our most consistent performer, gives his all, and tonight scored a belter of a goal. He deserves more credit than he gets, but just goes about his business in quiet efficient way. A top man.

Arguably our best bit of business in recent years and one of these guys that seems to go under the radar, so hopefully he’s here for the long haul.

I love Mick. Top guy and top player. May not be an outstanding player but you get the same from him every week and I’d be happy if he sees out his career with us.

Comes across low key, determined and frighteningly focused. Would NOT pick a fight.

Balls like melons, and consistency the rest only aspire to.

Didn’t like him when he first came in. Has arguably grown into my favourite player. Consistently performs, week in, week out in an otherwise very inconsistent team.

I think he's our best player.

Folk say he's always average or a 7, I think he's generally always an 8 or a 9.

Composed on the ball, uses his left a lot, gets in about it, always an option and has good match intelligence.

11 players of his quality in each position and we'd win the league, ok maybe 25 to account for injuries...

We are the perfect level for him, he hasn't the stature or athleticism  for the very top level but at this level he's a brilliant player.

Reminds me of Frail in his first season.

At the Ross County game, during the warm up, he came over to the front of the Wheatfield stand to sign some programs for some wee lads, got a wee round of applause for his time. Good lad. Seedorf got his nuts signed tonight.

When he came in he offered no attacking threat.

These days he probably first or second  in amount of shots at goal every game.

Never let's us down. The worst he has ever played is 'good'

I think Smith is great, he had a good performance switched to midfield at Aberdeen. Cracking goal tonight, solid all round tonight, but did he play well onside for their goal?

To add to all the justifiable praise above, he is also a versatile player who has never let us down in any position.  He's been asked to cover CB and LB as well as midfield during his time with us, and never less than fully competent.

Remember, he played as a make shift CB when we pumped the mhanks 4-0.  I had the fear when I saw our line up that day, but he never put a foot wrong.

What a player. 7/10 every single week. Can play LB, RB, centre half, centre mid. Best player after Naismith.

Bang on.

dont see him when he plays. Huge miss when he doesn't play. Minimum 7/10 every time he plays.

If you think hes always an 8 or a 9 then football isnt the sport for you.

Can I just say I am a big fan of Smith and for me is always a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. Tonight joins about 3 other times hes surpassed that.

I’ll add to this. When he first signed, especially at the Murrayfield games, I wasn’t sure of him as going forward I didn’t see much. I was wrong - defensively he hasn’t put a foot wrong.

Since then his worst game has been better than average. I also met him at a fans event and his commitment for a team he probably didn’t know that much about is crazy. He was injured and after asking if he watched games, he was clearly raging that he want playing and said he couldn’t even watch! We’ve had them but it’s been a while since we had someone so reliable.

Consistent every week in defence and really good going forward as well.

A tremendous signing in amongst the big names.

Never seen him have a bad game and he loves the club and the city.

Had the pleasure of chatting with him a few times as he lives quite near me and you couldn't meet a nicer guy.
