Did I really wear that?

We were having a clear-out in our storage unit yesterday and came across a large packing box full of photograph albums from 20/25 years ago (some loose photos from even longer ago). We haven’t looked at these for about 12 years.

Couldn't believe some of the clothes (and hairstyles) that we actually allowed ourselves to be seen in public with!

Unless everyone on here was/is the ultimate ‘fashionista’ there must be some real style blips you have regretted.

Name the item and shame yourself....

Since you're all being so forthcoming, I'll offer platform shoes that made Gary Glitter look like he was in ballet pumps, High waisters that had that many buttons that by the time you'd done them up after having a pee you feckin well needed again, shirts with collars you could fly off on holiday with and ties with knots the size of a small country.

That's for starters...

They still make them, they are called diamond pattern intarsia.

One of the last things I ever knitted was similar to one of these on a Stoll Intarsia machine.

Well you know what they say, if you keep it for long enough it'll come back into fashion, I was just hoping I'd set a new trend but all I got were weird looks. ?

Like the current craze for ripped jeans.  I was too old for them first time round in ‘88.

Curly perm. Blue velvet jacket, bottle green brushed denim loons, platform soles.

Feckin tragic.

Also had high waistband Brown flaired trousers that I wore with a patterned shirt and kipper tie.

Feckin even more tragic.

How I managed to get a ham shank in Clouds is beyond me.

Why, did you have a broken arm?
