The figures are all bullshit anyway

I want actual bums on seats, not tickets sold, it has to be consistent

Did Celtic **** have an average of 57k in their stadium

I wonder if airlines do the same... go by 'tickets sold' for their passenger numbers they flew when they generally overbook their flights because they know there is always a few who miss it

Lord Beni of Gorgie

I reckon we will have had greater footfall and revenue.

Clever from Dempster though bit like the illusionist on BGT tonight. Maybe a late wild card

As would I. I've watched a few of the Hibs games at Easter Road on the telly this past season and the crowds they are reporting don't appear to to match what I'm seeing. If I'm being honest, I've actually noticed that with ourselves too. I'd also like to see a comparison of the number of away supporters each club brings to each stadium. I want to know what our travelling support size was this past season.

Can't say I'm embarrassed in the slightest.

What an odd thing to get a red face about.

The away end at Easter Road holds almost 4,000 and the Roseburn nearer 3,400 although the lower sections of H&M were closed in the last derby and the recent Rangers & Celtic games, taking us down to barely 3,100 away fans at those games.

There’s your difference.

Need someone to make a freedom of information request to the Police to ask what they actual attendances were for all the games.

My guess is Hearts will move to 3rd.

Quite a simply thing to do. Surely someone wants to do this?

Good point, it would be interesting to see the figures for the home support for the season.

It's tickets distributed not bums on seats. Does not account for tickets that are free or people who don't turn up. Just another nonsense stat.

Based on this Hibs will have a far bigger turnover and profit than Hearts this year,  bet they won't though.

Not studied it but we seemed to have a disproportionate number if midweek home games which could have affected the figures. I remember Dundee and Livingston as particularly bad nights all round.

That said we were shite from October until the cup final.

It’s the wanting to do it !

You don’t need to do it. The figures don’t mean anything. A futile exercise to prove what we already know.

When did 17500 average attendance become embarrassing?

If Hibs weren't claiming more then folks would be happy about our fugures.

Not bothered reading any comments on this thread as the stats are totally inflated and we all know that. A nothing story

No reason to doubt the figures really.

Hibs are doing better than usual so will have better attendances, we’re not doing well so we have less than usual.

Up to hearts to do better on the pitch and we’ll see the crowds raise.   We’ve always had good supports in recent years so if we play well people will come.

Hibs crowds were due to the feelgood factor that winning a cup brings, the problem with them is now that expectations have risen the atmosphere of the club changes,a few defeats and the fans will be on their backs, clubs like us Aberdeen and Hibs cant sustain a quality side.

Attendances seem to be a thing that fans have "banter" about now.

Away supports, home sf, final etc.

Must be a new thing, arguing about attendances is just plain shite imo.

???

Yip, I have Plenty of things to be embarrassed about as opposed to attendances.

I'm embarrassed about my good looks, great hair, sculpted bum and my bulging package.

Constant embarrassment, but at least for real, genuine, non made up, personal reasons.

Can't be worrying about attendances as well.

The only thing that shocks me is that if those figures are true Hamilton had fewer people over the whole season than Celtic have for one game!!

Edinburgh football is one team high crowds one team low crowds. The 18000 at Easter rd should put Hearts at 6-7000 season tickets and crowds between 8-11000 I hope I am wrong but time will tell.Reported low season ticket sales are worrying.

Astounding to see the people of Edinburgh coming out in such good numbers to watch shite football, 17,500 ish for both teams is pretty impressive to be fair.

Not really worth getting upset about in the grand scheme of things.

They had more last year also, just the Murrayfield games skewed it to look otherwise.

Tbh, I've not.

I followed us when we had poorer crowds.

Think it's a young person's game or something.

Nobody mentioned attendances in the 90's.

The internet wasn't around then tho, just ripped each other for shite team, results and players.

Hearts and Hibs have a similar support, always have.

They get more when playing well home and away.

More support at closer home games and Saturday games, less for further away games and daft kick offs.

Less when doing poorly.

More at important games.

Not worth arguing about with a hibs fan, never mind other Hearts fans.

Anybody with eyes and half a brain could see there crowds were fabricated.

It's propaganda, something they are way better at than us. Leanne has definitely got that right from meeting and controlling the hibs net guys to cosying up to the media.

First time I’ve heard Hibs and Hearts having similar attendances?

Obviously there can be significant factors which dramatically raise crowds or make them dip but if you scrutinise when both sides have their average seasons the Hearts support steps up much better.

2003 to 2018

Hearts.          Hibs.

12,036.        9937

11,961.        9150

You seem to be very familiar with a lot of things regarding Hibs, especially those ''facts'' which paint them better off than Hearts.

Cup Final bounce. They won the cup then finished 3rd just a season ago. Of course their crowds are up. We've finished 5th or 6th 3 seasons in a row and are not far away attendance wise. Imagine when we improve on that...

The real test of a support is are you willing to go that extra mile when times are tough. In Hibs case it's been no. Their membership scheme thing take-up has been pretty embarrassing.

A few more 5th place finishes and no cups for them and it'll be business as usual. Natural order in fact. Their team currently has no stand out iconic figure like a McGinn or Griffiths or whoever that their fans can get behind. They'll be looking to Allen but he needs good players around him. Their youth policy, with one or two exceptions - maybe only Porteous - has ground to a halt. They need to do some very serious recruitment. Basically a whole new team despite Lennon spending Hibs biggest ever transfer budget.

Mind you I'm fine with all non-OF clubs attendances increasing, including Hibs. Apocalypse my arse.
