Never heard of the other 3 they have signed for £40/50 Mil a pop.

The Brazilian one rodrygo was signed at the same time as vinicius Jr, when he was 16  couldn't move til he was 18. Luka Jovic will replace benzema, he's really good. Hadn't heard much of the other one militao.

Well done Motherwell for getting what they want.

Gives us hope if Souttar leaves, it will be for a very large fee and add-ons.

Yeah fair play to them for not cowing to the media pressure to sell for less than they were prepared to. Wonder if losing McGinn played a part in Celtics decision to cough up. If Turnbull went south and succeeded in the same way McGinn has, without a clear successor for Brown, I reckon would pile pressure on celtic and their board.

McGinn certainly a factor.

But who at Celtic signed him?

Loaned out most likely too.

Since his agent's suspension has been suspended.

For the transfer period.

Not dodgy in the slightest.

Mino's going to double his net worth before that suspension's put back on.

Hastie going out on loan. They've realised his limitations quicker than I thought they would.

Puts me in mind of the rangers' transfer ban, postponed until the end of the transfer window.

Nothing to see here, nope, no way.

They would rather send their young wingers out on loan and develop Liverpool's young wingers instead.

Ojo could be next for Rangers, Liverpool are rumoured to be offering him a 5 year contract and will then send him out on loan, I've no idea why as he's nowhere near good enough for Liverpool and that team right now.

Also, Liverpool hoping to nab Nabil Fekir for as little as £20M as Lyon hope to cash in as he's nearing the end of his contract, they might throw another £80M at them as well to secure the services of Memphis DePay.

Also heard a rumour that Hull are possibly after Heckinbottom as manager, but it's probably been covered elsewhere on this forum.

Takefusa Kubo signs for Real Madrid

He was at Barca and signing for a bit of cash maybe suggests he'll get a chance. 18 now and Real do give youth a chance

Interesting one. We'll see how it goes, I like all Real's signings, solid but also attacking flair with Hazard

Take a bow Mr Turnball !!!!    Top man.       He may sign for them later but at least he's played hardball with their 'magnificent' offer.

Now there is a guy with a good agent.Clearly been told that if he is £3m player then pay him a £3m players wages.

Good on him !!!!   This'll really test if Celtic truly value him just now or whether it's another 'buy-up to limit their competitors' and if he does prove useful then that's a lucky double-whammy.

Kinda feel gutted for Motherwell if they lose money over this.

Don't think Celtic would've committed £3m had other teams not been keen too pushing price up.

This backfiring on Celtic, like John McGinn, will be so pleasing :D

Their Twitter statement on this was an epic public tantrum. You could just imagine the bottom lip sticking out of the person writing it.

Saying "magnificent" and "fantastic" to describe their offer to him is pretty subjective. I'm sure Turnbull knows his value if he's a 3m player now.

This is the club that didn't want to pay its employees a living wage though.

I see Celtic are now trying to leak details of the contract offer.

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/contract-david-turnbull-offered-celtic-16520012.amp?__twitter_impression=true

10x his wage, but if he was on say £500 a week at Motherwell, that would mean £5k a week at Celtic, hardly the wage for a £3m player.

Celtic are throwing a tantrum as their recruitment again comes across as miserly when dealing with Scottish players at other Scottish clubs.

Exactly. There's a also a story in The Scotsman about how he's apparently been offered more than they offered Van Djik and Wanyama (this could only come from Celtic so they're using the media to negotiate or try to save face), despite the fact that his transfer fee is about the same as both those players combined!

If Celtic value him at more than both those players then why not pay him more what a 3m player would expect?

This smacks of Celtic putting in a high transfer fee offer because they don't want to lose out on another young player because they weren't willing to pay his club the right fee. They'll have been whispering in Turnbull's ear about how highly they value him but when push comes to shove they won't pay him a commensurate salary.

The OF have lots of previous in doing this with young Scottish player. Rangers did it with Walker - turned his head, told him how much they want him then refused to pay up and left him in limbo - no transfer and no way back at his club.

The other story in the Football Gossip is Turnbull questioning that he would not be a regular in first team squad.

A sensible guy he knows he needs to play.

Seems a pretty switched on lad, doing right by Motherwell by signing the extension too. Hoping he goes down south to a decent sized club where he's going to get game time. Worst thing he could do is go west.

While Leicester kid on they have a £90M centre back on their hands and Liverpool signed one with no major honours (at the time) for £70M. A World Cup winner and one of the best defenders in Germany moves for £27M....nice to see there's some places where money hasn't totally ****ed everything

What sort of TV deal does germany have? Don’t you also get 10 euro tickets for top flight games as well?

I'd imagine the TV deal in Germany is pretty decent tbh. A good product that has appeal the world over. The ticket prices, I've never looked into but with salaries etc I'd still imagine they have to cover quite a large amount. In any case, £27M seems like a steal compared to south of the border

And yet the league in Germany has been won by the same team for 7 years running.

Does he maybe not think Lennon is the right manager for him? Just a thought.

How many young players has he ever really improved?

That DR article is sickening. The Hoops, 8 in a row champs... Our rags really are just fanzines. Its a Celtic press release, not an article.

How about a counter column praising a young Scottish player defending his career, given previous OF record of neglect???
