This kind of attack is fairly common in the Muslim world on Christian minorities or non Sunni groups but it's the first one I'm aware of that directly targeted Muslims in such numbers in the West, hence it is huge news. The only surprising thing to me is it happened in New Zealand and not the US or France where Islamic terror has been rife. Having seen some of the footage, there's no doubting the evil of the shooter here. Normal people do not retaliate, as his warped mind sees it, in such a way. I agree that concerns over Islamic ideology and it's integration should not be silenced. It remains a religion which condemns this attack today while a few weeks ago wanted a woman executed for drinking from the wrong cup at a well. To hate a human being you do not know and wish harm on them purely for what they believe is as despicable as you can get. It makes me full of rage to know that this event happened. I certainly do not see Islam as peaceful but I see these victims as peaceful, they were certainly innocent to the sack of excrement that felt he had the right to slaughter them. I said what I said. I guess I am just a huge sceptic in life and I guess that is my downfall. But anyway thanks for your post and as I said my respect is yours. You make your point reasonably well, it must be my poor writing that has confused you though, if you are asking me if my 'I don't hate" is true in the context you seem to see it would not be, but I think my comment that I had seen so much hate, and been part of so much hate would confirm that my statement of not hating is a major change in my lifestyle and attitude. I will correct you in one particular comment, you state you have respect etc. then state you do not buy the I do not hate thing, you are in fact suggesting I am not telling the truth, and if you have ever read with clarity any of my posts you would have seen that the other thing that bothers me now is deliberate telling of mistruths. With reference to the subject matter, as I have stated there will be many reasons for the ac tions of the killer, but in my elder, travelled, experienced years I put the actions down to pure hate, and that is quite often motivated not by a cause but by inadequacies in the perpetrators life and an effort to justify in his own mind his actual being. Comprehensive hates are not an emotion of the strong but of the weak.

Probably a bit off topic but when does it become his land? Or the Americans or South Africans? Is there a time limit or generation limit or a colour one? Does a second generation polish or Carribbean immigrant not have a claim to being British or that this is their land? On topic, we really need to have a look at as one things we take for granted like freedom of speech, freedom of the press and social media in general. All of which has probably had a role in this happening. How can this happen? Killing little kids and their mothers.
