In which case, if he took on the player coach role here, he plays when fit, but even on the sidelines he would be massively influential. On the other hand his injuries would encourage him to go to America now as last chance. Obviously needs to get fit.

With a little bit further digging it turned out to be rubbish.

Hearts_fan
Perhaps we may see our first 20-goal-a-season player since the King. I was rooting for Lafferty to do it last season, yet can't describe how happy I am now that he didn't.

Lord Beni of Gorgie
Its very possible he is, and if the damage is likely to reoccur, we need to seriously think about not putting all of our eggs in one basket. His biggest fan, but even with him we are not world beaters. Too much emphasis on him and now its going to be Uche. The team is suffering badly for this over reliance on individual players and the process needs to change away from that

Cynic
If rumour is true probably unlikely MLS would want him. Depends on extent of knee problem but even an injury prone Naismith would be better than most of the players we have got.

I did read something, cannot remember if it was late last night or early this morning that he hasn't even had any scans yet to determine the cause of the issue which came up during the Celtic game. I suspect the story(ies) going about last night were probably as a result of the frustration amongst those who had just had to watch what we did at Firhill, and were looking for additional ammunition to further fuel their disappointment, understandable though that disappointment was. There really are no excuses for that performance last night, none at all. Either side of the Celtic game we have faced St Mirren and Partick and looked poor in both. Overall it is a concern players lack that extra drive on the pitch. Not just at Hearts it feels like I'm watching a training knock about sometimes. Perfect role model. HMFC fans that promote a winning culture are inevitably told to feck off and watch either Celtic or Rangers if what they want to see is winning football. It sort of sums up why all clubs lag behind the OF, because it creates a thinking of couldn't care less if we lose or draw. It has to be difficult to get a winning mentality on the park if you have such an attitude in the stands.

Sorry, when I added in the last line it was in response to some of the general things I'd been reading in the thread rather than something you had suggested. I've seen a few surgeons over the years but I ain't no surgeon/doctor, so have no idea how their minds work. I had something done in December 2017, on the NHS, and was told they would need to see me again in around 3 months to check out progress and I'm still waiting for that 2nd meeting, and been told they are hoping it will be arranged before the end of 2019 Edited March 5, 2019 by portobellojambo1

Wardlaw67
Should we now give Vanecek a run of games? doctor jambo
These guys visit specialists all the time. In my training day I was working in A&E and a young footballer with a sore knee appeared in his full kit with his coach. as an SHO I waltzed in full of "expertise" and duly started to waggle the offending joint.... 2 minutes later the top ortho guy stegged in and threw me out.
