kila
I don't think that location works because Slateford Road is just too wide/busy. Contrast to Gorgie Road where it is narrow, traffic islands dotted down and everything crawls along at 15-20 mph. If you're enticed by a takeaway on Slateford Road, trying to cross to the other side is far too difficult.

This was a sit-down restaurant, I don’t think they did take-away (although there have been a few there too). It is quite a funny wee block - although it’s not really, it does feel quite isolated from others. Taste Good has been on the go for ages but, yes, there’s no parking and there isn’t a bar next door where you can nip into for a drink before or after. It’s a strange one. FWJ
Noticed some work being done to the outside of it today - so maybe someone else is going to be giving it a go.

Phage
Bring back Mr Sako and the Shandon Fish Bar please. When it closed it was the best The chippy next to the bakers is another flop shop. However they have always been rubbish.

Thing is, there’s been take-aways there too in the last couple of years that have failed. It’s not easy to park around there (or even stop outside, because of the bus stop). Although, of course, it’s not really - that block does feel a bit remote/isolated from other bars/restaurants. Maybe premises like that work better when there’s others around. (Although Taste Good seems to be thriving)
