I saw the Italian Job at the pictures when it came out and I was disappointed at the ending.

However having seen the film about a dozen times since I now think it was a great ending.

Dark Knight Rises? Seriously? I thought it ruined it even more. Flying in to the sunset with a nuke? No thanks.

Shutter Island

Shawshank

In the name of the father (even though you know the ending, the way it builds up along with Daniel Day Lewis’ acting is very powerful)

Not quite sure why I deserved that Vic

The Shawshank Redemption is the most rancid film cliche in existence.     Everyone and their dog seems to cite it in any 'best' or 'greatest' list.     It's a reasonable film.    An enjoyable film.     It is in no way,  shape or form great.

The only list it should ever top is that of most over-rated.

It is a 'textbook' response I admit when asked the question "best film ever". It really is 'that good' tbo and a masterpiece in every way. I was only talking about the ending however and that just blows you away. So original and intelligent and so befitting of Andy and a great way to end the severe injustice he suffered. You want overrated Vic, look no further than the Godfather

Just why maaan?

This kills me every time I see it. Even thinking about it makes me fill up.

It's like when I saw the trailer for the upcoming live action Dumbo remake. As I clicked on it I thought, "I'll be grand as long as they don't do Baby Mine in it".
