All roads lead to Gorgie
Sometimes you still recall random sporting stars from your youth, not because they were brilliant but for some other reason. In this case for me it was the name that stood out! Roscoe Tanner in Tennis

Aye, his way of doing squats was different and others quickly followed. Rather than lifting his while lower body back and forward, it was more a slide motion. For those who saw it, they will know what I am trying to say.

martoon
Forget his name but there was a show jumper in the '70's who was very famous for a while. No nonsense Northener who gave the high-heid-yins of his sport the two fingers while on horseback.

It's pretty much the norm for players to build their game on a powerful serve nowadays but he did it years before it was commonplace. Good player generally though. He was one of Borg's 5-in-a-row Wimbledon victims. 1979, iirc.

I P Knightley
I'd forgotten about Suzanne Dando, on who I had a wee crush before that link up with Charlie Nicholas. Howzabout Fuzzy Zoeller?
