Fitzroy Pointon

Last time I seen him on stage (on TV) he had pissed himself. Looked a sorry sight.

Just came about this thread by chance. What's the score with MES being a Jambo? Not heard that before though I've been the wrong side of the border for almost 30 years now.

From when he lived in Edinburgh, but he most certainly wasn't at university up here, or anywhere.

It was after The Fall were already a big band. He was up here doing a show as part of the International Festival and must have liked what he saw so moved here shortly afterwards.

I read he move here to get away from the Madchester scene, and I think a 1/4 Gill might have had something to do with it too.

Yep kudos to Scott Wilson - if he’s listening - not sure if it was prompted by my suggestion on here ? but in any case, was thrilled to hear it and hope to hear it at Tynie again.

It’s a grower that track, one of the sweetest songs ever written about Edinburgh and so unlike The Fall. Their only ballad?

That and Bill is Dead I think.

Anyway adore that song, had to miss the game today but very glad to hear Scott played it. Top lad.
