Tonight.

Celtic are back on track for another title. Doing the usual catch up now after Champions League fixtures. Beat Motherwell 3-2 last week. Did lose to Aberdeen end January though.

May see some stars of the future. Plus we have a few youngsters with great potential including 15 year old Chris Hamilton. Hearts played a few first teamers last week including Liam Smith and Angus Beith. And Bikey.

Hopefully they'll do better than the U17's who got beat 8.0 from Celtic 4 days ago.

wow!

Did their 13 year old play in that one?

Glad to see some much needed context put in (also why it is dangerous to make judgements on young players solely on seeing a score line.) Why were so many U15s playing?

As JiG said, interesting to see some context put on the result.

The U14s lost 6-0 to Rangers yesterday, although the U13s won their game 1-0 (more comfortably than the score suggests).

Aaron Reid and Andy Irving have just been named in the latest Scotland U17 squad for a pair of friendlies against Japan (in Spain) next week.  Hopefully both will still be part of the squad to take part in the UEFA Championship Elite Round in March.

Hearts hit bar from 25 yard free kick tipped onto bar by keeper.

That was Rory Currie

Top notch. Wish they had lost so I could have said pish.

Clean sheet for Noring against a worthy opponent. What could that mean?

Two clean sheets and we want to change the keeper

Anyhow well done the young Jambos :bravo:

That league table would make me depressed were it not for the fact that league placings mean very little at this level. It's all about unearthing two or three gems.

Let's hope we have them.

Good result that, pushes us up the league a little too. [emoji846]

It is a good result.

I know we're still blaming the Romanov years for the state of our youth system but we should be better than we are.

It was a dogged and determined display that saw them, in the end, comfortably defend the lead given to them by an Ally Roy strike just after the break.

Hearts looked to have started ok when they won an early free kick. Rory Currie's strike from 25 yards looked to be heading into the top corner before the Celtic keeper made a fantastic save to touch it onto the bar.

Celtic hit straight back and missed several opportunities to equalise, denied by a number of good stops from Noring and some wayward shooting.  Hearts had to resort to just punting the ball up the park for a spell before they finally managed to to break the shackles and get forward in the last five minutes of the half.

I think they got a roasting off Jon Daly at half time for giving them too much respect and time on the ball.

They started the second half with much more positive intent and were rewarded within two minutes when a crossfield pass from Henderson found Ally Roy in  space on the right side of the box. He took a touch and fired a low shot in off the near post to put Hearts ahead.

Again Celtic hit back and Noring brought off a great save to deny Regan Hendry.  Thereafter Celtic's confidence dropped somewhat and Hearts held their own, while looking to use the pace of Roy, Bikey and Currie up front.

It was only in the last ten minutes that Celtic again camped themselves in the Hearts half, but failed to create any chances of note.

The last few minutes saw Hearts successfully run the clock down and Andy Irving should have scored a second in the last minute when he blootered the ball over the bar from an Akers cut back.

The boyz done good!

The side defended well throughout but it would be difficult not to give the MOTM to Noring for keeping Hearts in the game in the first half.
