Konrad von Carstein
Flying off next Saturday and a search on Kindle store has me suffering information overload. I'm into Zombie, Dystopian and Horror although a good Detective or Suspense novel is always a bonus. A recommendation is always a good staring point, thanks in advance. Konrad von Carstein
Should be Polish you're learning. You never know, when you're in a certain taxi again... Aside from that. Stuart Macbride books about Logan Mcrae, set in Aberdeen. Detective series, grim in parts, and some funny dark humour in it too. The Lewis Triology by Peter May's good too. Cheers will have a look. Stupid Sexy Flanders
If you're not already into Christopher Brookmyre, get into him. (Ooh-er etc..) For Scottish crime novels with a bit of humour, there's none better.
Chester™
Please continue..... There's the book about Bobblehead Bettman - The Instigator. Cracking read. Fighting the Good Fight by Adam Proteau - pretty much about the debate on if fighting in hockey should be allowed.
Alan_R
Perhaps appeal to the detective/crime side of your tastes. I just finished 'Under and alone by William Queen' It's a true story of how an undercover agent infiltrated a violent biker gang in America It's easy reading and exciting. Perfect holiday reading fodder
Carl Fredrickson
I would echo the mentond for Rebus, Peter May and Brookmyre. I would also add the Inspector Banks books by Peter Robinson (based in Yorkshire) and the Barney Thomson by Douglas Lindsay. Barney is a barber who accidentally becomes a serial killer. Non fiction but my fave holiday read is Michael Palin's Around the World in 80 Days. Great TV prog but the book is even better. Our hols consist of lazing by pool sides or on a beach in Spain and it's best done whilst reading about someone else having an adventure. ?
