I think as we get older too, this affects how we perceive it. 9 years ago if there were housemates who were 18-21 y.o. I could kind of relate to that. Now I am 9 years older and so the 18-21 y.o. age group is alien to me. Therefore I find BB comlete garbage. There is a younger demographic whom it may appeal to, but as they get older and the housemate demographic remains static so the allure is lost. Yes, the first few were quite interesting from a sociological point of view but any pretence of "experiment" or pseudo research has long since gone. You're dead right Makween. I don't watch it - but then I don't watch anything. I have however followed the 'Offishul JKB Big Brother Threads' in the past to see what's been going on. 75% of those threads were full of posts like 'How can you watch that pish?', 'Haven't you got a life?', 'Watching people eating breakfast? You're sad' etc, etc. The Big Brother threads attract far more posts and views from anti-Big Brother posters then the folk who watched the show and set up the thread to discuss it. If I saw a 'Petrolheads - what's your favourite car?' thread, I may look in on it once (maybe not at all) as I don't drive and have no liking or knowledge of cars. Beverley Posted June 5, 2008 Share Posted June 5, 2008 loved BB1 and there has been a couple of decent moments in the earlier season. tonight i'll do my usual though over the last few years and watch everyone go into the house, probably get annoyed at first sight, by the talentless, idiotoc, media whores who will do anything to get on TV, in the papers or whatever, and be delighted by the end of the launch show to announce i have my summer back..... only i'll not have all my summer back, cos i'll be enjoying (hopefully) euro 2008, and not bloody big brother footy i can handle, desperate people who want to be famous, so they can knob a footy player/page 3 stunna/3rd rate soap actor/actress (delete as appropriate) makes me want to throw my TV out the window you never know though, i might end up enjoying it, and dipping in and out til the end.
