Footballfirst
Sunday Times reveals that Premier Leagues making hundreds of millions in profits are paying little or no Corporation Tax http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/public/sitesearch.do?querystring=clubs+avoid+taxman+%27s+tackle§ionId=2&p=sto&bl=on&pf=all It's no real surprise. The government's rules on payment of corporation tax are pretty lax, Previous years losses can be offset against current year profits to reduce the tax bill. Given that most clubs will have made losses in recent years, many will still have sufficient tax "assets" in reserve to avoid paying corporation tax for a few years yet. Hearts deferred tax asset is currently ?12.956M, so I can't see us paying corporation tax for the foreseeable future.
