Quotes are sugesting that real are willing to offer ?100million plus three 1st teamers to get there man with sergio ramos, wesley sniedjer names being mentioned. I would sell as hes clearly wanting to leave and the let him rot in the stands statement from the yanks will have pi55ed him off no end IMO as the guy clearly loves himself and believes he is bigger than the club. I'd ger Ricardo Quersma of porto has been awesome this season same type oh flair winger set piece specialist and Benzema arriving to replace his goals and flair and plough the 50million plus change into the debt. Thoughts?

They should take the ?100m and take Robinho as one of the 3 players and as you say also sign Queserma.Money has now seduced Ronaldo i think.

He's a good player, but no-one is worth ?100m

Sell him before the Euro's just in case he gets snapped...

Man U have enough to cover his loss I would say.

He will be a big loss(42 goals)but one that ?100m and players could be worth it.

Good shout. Man Utd would be silly to turn that kinda deal down would like to see him stay though but money talks, robinho, sniedjer, ramos, Bezema and Quersma added to that current crop at man u would be unreal.

I don't get why he would want to leave Man U for anything other than money.Real are further away than ever from winning the CL and getting rid of 3 of your best players just to get one for ?100m aint going to get them any closer.Shirt money is again why Real want him so much i would say.

Fergie said on the BBC website that the owners would rather put Ronaldo in the stands till the end of his contract than sell him to Real Madrid.

A statement that pobably only made things worse. To be honest it's win win situation for Ronaldo either way he is getting a huge rise in wages.

Last quote I saw from Ronaldo himself was him saying he's staying just after winning in Moscow...Has something changed? I thought it was just Real lauding him publicly all the time.

Ronaldo was born and bred in Madeira. Manchester is a cold place.

Maybe he'd prefer to live in a climate that suits him better?

I know I would.

Madrid's feckin' freezing for 5-6 months of the year, and unbearably hot for three.

Still, it's dry I guess.

Manchester's the gloomiest place I've ever worked. And everyone had gay Hollyoaks hair.

As far as ive seen its all paper talk in madrid, madrid have actually come out and said they wouldnt be pursuing him.

He'll be at United for a while yet.

If madrid are stupid enough to offer that kind of money then man utd should take their hand off. Dont get me wrong he's a top player but easily replaced for that money. Got a feeling he wants to go also and the comment about making him sit in the stand will no doubt have ****ed him off.

Ramos is probably a more effective defender in his position than any current United defender is in theirs, and beautifully will slip straight into right back, creating the most formidable defence in Europe in my opinion - Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, RAMOS - with Silvestre, Brown and Neville as cover! Oh ya f@*ker!

United can live without him, Rooney hates his guts, others are a little annoyed by his antics, and ?100m is ?100m.

Nani can fill his position sufficiently.

Personally, I would take Ramos and ?75m for him, but Ferguson would need to buy Berbatov (best striker in England in my opinion) to replace Ronaldos goals and a couple of midifelders. Robinho would be nice, but I can't see him going, hes a ?30m player. Ramos has been to Manchester and liked it, so yeah, as a united fan, I hope so.

I think he will go.

hes done everything at Utd so fair play to him.

If he was desperate to stay at Utd he would have came out with a stament days and weeks ago saying hes staying and would have signed a new deal, so whats with this useless excuse he will deceide in the next 2 to 3 days.

Hel be away to Madrid.

To put this in perspective

These two clubs each have a turnover of around a quarter of a billion so ?100m is

roughly equivelant to ?4m in a Hearts context.

Nani is not even half the player that Ronaldo is, Nani is a selfish player, and a petulant player who cant last a full game, and United will struggle without him UNLESS they bring in Robinho or Messi, only 2 players that can replace him for his style.

To say Rooney hates his guts is bull. Him and Ronaldo are good mates off the park, hes said this in interviews.

If you think that its Nani who is hated by Rooney, last couple of games Nanis started and Rooneys been a simple option of a pass, Nanis not taken it.

Ramos is hit or miss but Vidic is a far better player than him.

I never said Nani was as good or better, I said -

You also said - "Nani is a selfish player".

So is Ronaldo, and so was Zidane, Pele, Best............

With the amount of money and spin now involved in the cogs of modern day football, are you honestly ignorant to the fact that teams like Manchester United have PR advisers/coaches who discuss matters with their players on a weekly and sometimes daily basis? Do you not realise that the media (re - your comment "hes said this in interviews") are used as vehicles to convey positive and negative messages to supporters and general public?

Watch their on field expressions and gestures, or when they celebrate sometimes, there is something missing between them, and has been since Rooney was sent packing for England against Portugal.

In short, do you no think there is a chance Rooney is lying, because his boss pays him to for the greater good of the club?

This has happened in Italy for decades. Fabio Capello being the master and inventor of this tactic.

Where you have completely blown your foot clean off though is in regard to Ramos.

Without looking on Google, do you know how old he is?

Have you seen him play?

He is a big, athletic, lightning quick and skillful footballer who would in my opinion become the greatest right back ever to play in the Premiership.

He would not replace Vidic or Ferdinand he would join them in Wes Browns place.

The only reason I have never expected a United/Chelsea/Liverpool approach is because I have always assumed he would stay put at Madrid, due to him being a massive Real fan.

Unlike Ronaldo, Rooney actually gets on with Ramos, and they keep in contact with each other via telephone. This started at a Nike ad campaign weekend away. Pique (who coincidently just left Utd and re-signed for barca - hmmm?) has also shared with his Spanish international team mates that the infrastructure now in place at United (hugely due to Queiroz) is light years ahead of Barcelona, who have better facilities than Madrid, which in this age of football where players want to play into their late 30s and even early 40s (due to money), is a huge draw.

As for the deal being discussed, Diarra is no better than Carrick or Hargeaves and not needed. United would rather have Berbatov than Robinho, so if there is a deal it will probably only involve Ramos and money.

I hope he goes, and Ramos signs for us.

Two out of two penalties missed in the last two stages of the biggest club tournament in the world is not world class.

anybody who thinks utd will take a player swop/cash deal for ronaldo isn't the full schilling, never ever in a million years will this happen and if ronaldo is making a statement in the next 48hrs it will be,imo, to say he is staying at old trafford, anything else would throw portugals euro 2008 bid into turmoil with the medis circus that would follow and that just wouldnt go down to well in his home land....................................

or Portugal could use it to their advantage?

Don't think the European Champions will in any way dictate the outcome of Ronaldos team next season. The guy is probably the most papped player anyway, the media might follow him more intensively if he doesn't make a decision.

If Man Yoo could swap him for ?30M, Ramos, Robinho and another player who isn't a centre midfielder, they'd crazy not to take it.

Robinho would fill in to Ronaldo's poisition, not as good but excellent all the same. Ramos would mean the end of Gary Neville, and he is one of the best right banks in the world. If I was them, I'd try take Robben too. Their squad would be frightening if it went through.

Saying all that, I hope Ronaldo stays. I think he'll dip next season.

I think that Ronaldo will play for Madrid at some point in his career is almost inevitable. He is a real mummy's boy and she is on record saying that she would love to see him playing for them before she dies. As for next season though it might be a bit too soon. Saying that though, if the deal is right Fergie will take it, this sitting in the stands stuff is bollocks, there's no way he'd want that controversy so close to his retirement.

Disagree, Nani is not good enough to fill Ronaldos boots, if he was that good why does he not start every game for Utd?

You also said - "Nani is a selfish player".

In certain games he has been, alot of Utd fans are sick of him, least Ronaldo plays in players and doesnt always go on his own like Nani

So is Ronaldo, and so was Zidane, Pele, Best............

Fair point but no chance he hates his guts

In short, do you no think there is a chance Rooney is lying, because his boss pays him to for the greater good of the club?

So what makes you so certain Rooney hates his guts? Thats absolute bulls***!

This has happened in Italy for decades. Fabio Capello being the master and inventor of this tactic.

Where you have completely blown your foot clean off though is in regard to Ramos.

Without looking on Google, do you know how old he is?

Hes either 22 or 23?

Have you seen him play?

Yes and hes hit or miss as I said, if he was that good why has no one else made a move for him earlier?

He is a big, athletic, lightning quick and skillful footballer who would in my opinion become the greatest right back ever to play in the Premiership.

LMAO, Greatest right back to ever play in the Premiership if he signs for Utd? Load of bull! If He was linked to Arsenal, Pool or Chelsea you wouldnt be creaming him up so much, hes decent, but not as good as you are hyping him up.

He would not replace Vidic or Ferdinand he would join them in Wes Browns place.

The only reason I have never expected a United/Chelsea/Liverpool approach is because I have always assumed he would stay put at Madrid, due to him being a massive Real fan.

Diarra is a far better player than both you have mentioned, both are overated and only hyped up due to being English, I could name atleast 6 better centere midfielders in the Premiership who are better than Carrick and Hargreves, Diarras a fantastic player, what makdes you so certain that these players are signing for Utd?

I hope he goes, and Ramos signs for us.

If you hope Ronaldo goes then your crazy as a Utd fan as hes carried you lot in the EPL, without him Man U would have not won the league, so goodbye to your league for sure if he goes.

Two out of two penalties missed in the last two stages of the biggest club tournament in the world is not world class.

Ive never said hes world class, ive never rated him world class but he does it domestically not European wise but fair play to you, 1st Man Utd fan who doesnt read into the hype of Ronaldo.

Maybe it's clever attributing this attitude to the owners, not the manager.

This means the manager / player relationship can continue, and Fergie could attempt to persuade him with the remarks not emanating from him?
