I'm going for experience...

Henry Smith - always good for a laugh.

Big Dave MacPherson - need a reliable stopper.

Dave Mackay - first choice in any hearts team ever.

Alan Gordon - intelligence in head and feet.

Donald Ford - great club servant and reliable goalscorer.

Fitness would let them all down

I wonder if there would be any appetite from the clubs for a revived Tennents 6's tournament? Think the fans would be up for it so financially it could be a go'er.

Sadly, players are too 'valuable' nowadays to have any tourneys like this.  Can you imagine a million pound player + getting a career ending injury playing 5's?

Have sky stopped the oldies 5 aside tournaments?

Always good for watching some old players who could still play a bit. Mark Walters and Robert Pritz always stood out for Rangers.

Remember going to Braehead to watch one, think Alan Laurance played for us and looked good - but was a good few years ago (maybe 9 or 10) so memory maybe playing up.

Gone for a bit more of a recent set of players:

Kello (decent at saving pens, so should be a cracking 5s keeper)

Zaliukas (Solid and loved a wee run forward)

Ozturk (Loves a shot)

Skacel (Shoots from anywhere and scores)

Nade (Wouldn't get past him on the 5s pitch)

Is this the Fit Nade who is plying his trade for Hamilton? or Fat Nade when he played for us, who still loves a goal against the wee team?

Something Scottish football should look at bring back for a bit of extra revenue. Could be a popular excercise and a good way to get players fit during pre season.

It seems no one knows what  they're talking about on this post.

Tosh was the most skilful of any player at fives but seems to have been forgotten.

He was the best player I've seen at fives.

Current Nade, but I'd probably still pick Fat Nade in my team.

You know when you play 5's, there's always that one guy that no one can get past, who just smashes his way past people and somehow manages to score?  Fat Nade

Whoa whoa whoa. Hud the bus.

I've got rid of Fulton from my team. Replaced by Takis. How could I have forgotten that dream of a player.

On a slightly different note I just don't get some of the ridicule on this site aimed at Henry. The man was a legend. He played more often than almost any other Hearts player. Of course he made mistakes. Gordon, Rousset, Niemi all made mistakes. If they had played as many games they would have made more mistakes too.

On a serious note, it's more than likely because he was shite mate.

Never seen some of those teams but mine would be on the post war team. Easily.

I know this site is mostly based on opinion rather than fact but I can't agree with that. The man played hundreds of times for the club not only in SPL when we came so close to winning the title but also in Europe. The man is a legend. Recent fans favourites (Gordon, Niemi, Rousset) all made plenty of mistakes in their time. All keepers do. They never played half the games Henry did. Of course Henry made mistakes. But didn't I see Neuer the German/Bayern keeper make a mistake against Arsenal? And he's meant to be the best in the world.
